perfect
adjective per·fect ˈpər-fikt
“We wear the mask that grins and lies, it hides our cheeks and shades our eyes. This debt we pay to human guile; with torn and bleeding hearts we smile, and mouth with myriad subtleties…we wear the mask.” – Paul Laurence Dunbar
Everyone is trying to be “perfect”, but, as defined…perfect is NOT what you think it is. As Merriam-webster defines perfect: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/perfect …the definition itself is not “perfect”, but let’s look at the definition(s): being entirely without fault or defect, satisfying all requirements, corresponding to an ideal standard or abstract complete, faithfully reproducing the original, legally valid, lacking in no essential detail, absolute…I can go on but the silver lining here is perfect is what we define it to me. The “perfect” smile means something different to everyone.
While we are so intrigued by “perfect” people…we must realize the definition and context of the world. If you must use the definition, as it is written, then we are all perfect.
So, by definition…if you are a parent, you are “perfect”. If you have confidence and believe in yourself…you are legally valid…you are “perfect”. The word perfect has many definitions. Find the one that defines you and continue to work on yourself and help others to find their “perfect”.
Let’s take off the mask and show others the “real” us. Once you take off the mask and allow people to see the struggle, to see the real, to see YOU…then they will realize…my life is not messed up and they are not perfect…but we all are a work in progress.
Let’s all be perfectly real. The world will be a
better place.
