Podcaster Travis Chappell has hosted the Build Your Network podcast since 2017. Using what he learned from running his own successful podcast, Travis offers podcast coaching and consulting services. Now he is launching a software marketplace called Guestio, which connects podcasters with potential guests, bypassing the traditional networking process and helping to streamline the entire guesting workflow through in-app scheduling, messaging, and easily press kits

What does your company do?

I’m launching a software called Guestio. For the past few years, my company has done podcast production for entrepreneurs. What we’re building now is a marketplace for creators to find and book high-quality guests on their podcasts. If you’re a podcaster, YouTuber, blogger, author, or other creator and you want to get high-level interviews or high-level guests, you can connect with them on our platform. We even take it one step further by offering a free suite of tools to make the interview booking process easier on both sides through in-app scheduling, messaging, and easily press kits that include headshots, media bios, press links, and other relevant information. That way, even if you never use the marketplace, you can still use Guestio for free to replace your interview booking workflow whether you are a frequent guest on shows or you run your own platform.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?
I’m pretty proud of the fact that my podcast has been on the top entrepreneurship charts for over a year straight now. A lot of people will brag about their ratings, but in reality, they topped the charts once for three days and haven’t ranked again. But we’ve been there for over a year, which is a lot more challenging than getting up there briefly.

I’m also proud of our guest lineup. We’re almost 500 episodes in and at least 300 of those are with really successful entrepreneurs. It took a lot of effort for me to build my network from scratch, and I feel I have a great group of people around me who are allowing me to constantly level myself up.

Do you have a motto that you live by?

The one I always refer back to is from Steve Martin: “Be so good they can’t ignore you.” Everyone’s afraid of getting lost in the noise. But if you focus on being the best and you combine that with your network, you’ll become the best and everyone will know you. That’s a powerful combination for success.
