Robert Davis of RD Heritage Group was born and raised in the Detroit area of Michigan. Graduating 3rd in his class with his undergraduate at the University of Michigan, Robert Davis was academically inclined and continued his studies in Medicine at the University of Miami in Florida. Davis selected his residency in Nevada with the School of Medicine and then practiced for 10 years as an ER and Ambulatory Care Physician as well as locum tenens physician serving rural communities across the country. A unique investment partnership opportunity presented itself and after seeing through its success, Dr. Robert Davis was prompted to drastically shift his career, seeing the potential impact for his skills and experience outside of the field of medicine.

Since then and for over 25 years, Dr. Robert Davis has partnered with key groups in the fields of Technology, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Med Tech, Artificial Intelligence, and beyond. His contribution to industries for social impact led to the formation of RD Heritage Group, focusing as a business with a hands-on approach of investment partnership. The company strategically provides resources in fundraising, marketing, and international trade for clients primarily within the private sector. As co-founder of RD Heritage Group, Dr. Robert Davis works closely with investors, family offices, and global business providers. RD Heritage keeps its headquarters in Nevada where Dr. Davis has lived for the past 17 years.

Why did you decide to create your own business?

After practicing medicine for 10 years, I completely shifted my career towards investments which led to partnerships with multiple privately held family offices. Together we decided to form RD Heritage Group in order to establish the foundation of building relationships with global industries that generate social impact and “good”. The intention was to combine our experience and background in select industries that corroborated with our philosophy.

What do you love most about the industry you are in?

There are several factors about the investment partnership industry that I love the most which mostly revolve around the capability of selecting the right investments for our mission. It is by meeting and learning from the leaders within select industries that we benefit from the most innovative and amazing ideas they must share. The opportunity of growth through learning has been very exciting, as we get to meet and collaborate with the brightest minds of our economy.

What does a typical day consist of for you?

As a leadership role of RD Heritage Group, the team relies on me to maximize productivity and pursue any and all potential interests while in constant communication with our current partner clients and RD Heritage’s Managing Partner, John Dean Harper – a securities attorney and visionary. My daily calendar app is stacked full of meetings and conferences so my day may start with a 4am call with partners in Asia or Europe and end at 9p with clients/partners in town for a dinner meeting. Throughout the day, the team is working around the clock to secure leads on new potential partnerships or investors and to grow companies we have invested in through “growth management,” which is business development, marketing and strategy.

What keeps you motivated?

I am inspired by others that have achieved success in business and in investments. People like Ray Dalio and John C. Maxwell have provided powerful guides and a solid foundation which drives me to continue to be passionate at what we do with RD Heritage Group. I am constantly reading their publications to engrain not just my business but my life with their invaluable principles.

How do you motivate others?

With the principle of “Radical” transparency and open-mindedness, I am compelled to share my experience and philosophy with everyone around me, not just the team at RD Heritage Group but family and friends as well. The goal is to encourage growth through learning and success through the pursuit of opportunity.

How has RD Heritage Group grown from its early days to now?

RD Heritage Group has a diverse and ever-expanding portfolio of investments and partnerships in its history. The success of the company parallels the changing global economy as we pivot across industries.  We have established unique and long-lasting relationships within the international marketplace and have shared our experience as a valuable resource with client partners.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

Reading as much as possible has led me to the discovery of great teachings by leaders in business that have achieved high levels of success. I also learn a great deal from those that innovate new technologies and strategies within the industries we work with. This along with my passion for helping others drives me towards new ideas that are incorporated into RD Heritage.

Who has been a role model to you and why?

The team at RD Heritage relies on my productivity as a role model every day. The principles that guide me are the same as those shared by leading achievers in the field of business today. Ultimately, it’s those that share the same values of impact for society that I look towards as a role model.

How do you maintain a solid work life balance?

Instead of balance, I choose to just be adaptive and do as much as I can with every moment. Every day of the week is focused on good health, hard work, successful business, happy living with my family and helping others.

What traits do you possess that makes you a successful leader?

As a leader, I know how much my team depends on me for the success of the business. Our partners also rely on me for the success of the investment. Having a sense of accountability and maximizing my productivity helps me be the leader my team and partners can believe in but it’s really the willingness to learn and adapt I’ve incorporated into my principles that leads success.

What suggestions do you have for someone starting in your industry?

I suggest to anyone getting into investment partnership to be thoughtful of the people you work with both internally and externally. It is also important to learn as much as you can from the industry you choose and therefore be open to criticism, feedback, and then be willing to adapt to changes. Lastly, always stay ahead of the power curve.

What has been the hardest obstacle you’ve overcome?

Personally, my own mortality has been hard to deal with. This career came to me later in life and after realizing the potential I could have within the industry, I became driven/passionate to accomplish as much as possible and help those in need beyond my own children and the legacy I leave with them.

What in your biggest accomplishment?

Dealing with fears and setbacks through learning and adaptation has truly been my biggest accomplishment. There was a period in my life, in my early thirties, where I had stopped learning which led to some bad partnerships in business. I reached a point where I had no choice but to pivot and find something new and, remembering my academics in college, I pushed myself to learn once again which revitalized my business, shifted my career and eventually led to the success I perpetuate with continued learning.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to others?

To everyone who has a dream, I implore them to pursue with hard work and relentless enthusiasm.

Outside of work, what defines you as a person?

My work principles and life philosophy are virtually one and the same. Outside of the business, I continue to provide resources to my family and friends while keeping an open mind to new ideas and feedback. The goal is still the same as I strive for impact in the lives of those around me.

With a portfolio of diverse and innovative industries, RD Heritage is built on a foundation that focuses on the most outstanding trends of today with the potential to operate on a global scale. The merging of technology and agriculture proves to be the most impactful in the lives of individual people across the world. Also, the listed industries that RD Heritage Group focuses its investments towards constantly emerge with new developments to reach and help more people involved. The contribution towards ethical industries is what essentially fuels the growth of RD Heritage Group and perpetuates the principles that Dr. Davis has built the company on.

Where do you see you and your company in 5 years?

RD Heritage Group is projected to see growth through further investments within those top industries that impact society. Through our continued efforts, the group is sure to expand with different entities that keep with the founding principles that have generated the initial success of RD Heritage and partners.
