The healthcare system affects each us at some point in our lives. It is usually at a time when we are at our most vulnerable, a time where soothing experiences and human comfort can make the world of difference.

The Cashmere Foundation’s mission is to provide just that. Looking at what is being done in the best spas and wellness centers, Cashmere brings those touchpoints into hospitals. Mapping out the typical hospital experience, our services touch the patient throughout their treatment journey, from initial check-in to post-treatment self-care education, creating an entire wellness experience for patients. Cashmere’s mobile spas are stocked with all-natural products from EO, and patients choose from a range of signature treatments including massage, reiki, and guided meditation.

Our service includes a post-treatment wellness check-in, allowing patients to reflect on their experience and provide feedback. Cashmere Foundation elicits feedback, ensuring a customized experience for the patients we serve, quantifying our success and efficacy.

Launching at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center in January 2017, Cashmere Foundation began serving patients at the Ida Friend Infusion Center and plan to expand the service across hospitals. Also proud partners with The National Eating Disorder Association, Cashmere Foundation will be rolling out services to eating disorder treatment centers nationwide.

Cashmere Foundation was founded by Rachel Happ, who, after spending years in and out hospitals battling anorexia, realized what was missing from even the best institutions. Rachel received her degree from Parsons School of Design, where she created a program focused on healthcare innovation strategy and environments for wellness. Prior to starting Cashmere Foundation, she designed with the Innovation Team at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer. A firm believer in the science behind the healing benefits of incorporating alternative modalities in the treatment process, The Cashmere Foundation is Rachel’s way of merging already exceptional healthcare with the profound power of human touch through the spa experience.
