“Surgery should always be the last resort. With the advancements in regenerative medicine—PRP, stem cells, peptides, and exosomes—we now have the ability to help the body heal itself naturally, reducing pain and restoring function without the risks of invasive procedures. If there’s a chance to avoid surgery and achieve lasting relief, why not take it?”
– Dr. Hany Demian
Chronic pain is a widespread issue that affects millions of people, often limiting their mobility, diminishing their quality of life, and leading them to rely on prescription medications or invasive surgeries. While traditional pain management methods have long been centered around opioids, cortisone injections, and surgical interventions, modern advancements are paving the way for more natural and effective alternatives. Dr. Hany Demian, a leading expert in chronic pain management and regenerative medicine, has dedicated his career to finding innovative solutions that help patients heal without the risks associated with conventional treatments. With over 20 years of experience, he specializes in Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, stem cell treatments, minimally invasive spine surgery, and cutting-edge AI-driven pain management techniques.
In this exclusive interview, Dr. Demian shares his journey into the field of pain management, explains how regenerative medicine is transforming the way we treat pain, and highlights why non-surgical interventions should always be considered before opting for invasive procedures. He provides invaluable insights into the benefits of PRP, the growing role of AI in personalized pain treatment, and the importance of educating patients on the many options available to them. If you or a loved one are struggling with chronic pain, this conversation will open your eyes to the revolutionary medical advancements that could change your life.
Thank you so much for joining us! Our readers would love to get to know you a bit better. Can you tell us a bit about your backstory?
Absolutely. I was born and raised in Egypt, where I completed my undergraduate studies before moving to the U.S. to pursue advanced medical training. Initially, I was set on working in the U.S., but when that didn’t go as planned, I moved to Canada and began my career in emergency medicine. Over time, I found myself drawn to chronic pain management. Working in emergency medicine was incredibly rewarding, but I realized that many patients kept returning for pain-related issues, and the options available to them were limited. They were often prescribed opioid painkillers, given cortisone shots, or directed toward surgery. I wanted to offer them something better—a treatment that didn’t just mask the pain but actually healed the root cause. That’s when I decided to specialize in chronic pain management and minimally invasive spine surgery. Today, I’m based in Florida at the Biospine Institute, where we use the latest advancements in regenerative medicine, anti-aging treatments, and surgical innovations to help our patients achieve lasting pain relief.
Pain management has come a long way, but many people still believe the only solutions are painkillers or surgery. What new advancements are available today that offer a more natural approach?
Traditionally, pain management relied heavily on medications like opioids, cortisone injections, or full-blown surgery. Unfortunately, these treatments often come with serious risks, from addiction and dependency to joint and tissue degradation. Thankfully, the field has evolved. Today, we use regenerative medicine to help the body heal itself without drugs or invasive procedures. Treatments like PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy, stem cell injections, peptides, and exosomes allow us to repair damaged tissues, regenerate cartilage, and even rebuild spinal discs—all through natural healing mechanisms. Instead of simply suppressing pain signals, we are addressing the underlying causes of pain. We now have groundbreaking techniques that help regenerate tissue in areas like the knees, shoulders, hips, and spine, allowing patients to regain mobility and function without major surgery.
PRP is becoming more popular, but many people are still skeptical. Can you explain how it works and why it’s such a game-changer?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is one of the most exciting advancements in modern medicine because it leverages the body’s own healing powers. Here’s how it works: we draw a small sample of the patient’s blood, spin it in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from red blood cells, and then inject the concentrated platelets into the injured area. These platelets contain powerful growth factors that stimulate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing. What’s amazing is that PRP doesn’t just relieve pain—it actually helps regenerate ligaments, cartilage, and even bone. When combined with peptides and exosomes, PRP becomes even more powerful, allowing us to repair joint damage, heal torn ligaments, and even rebuild spinal discs. It’s a natural, minimally invasive solution that is safer and more effective than many traditional treatments.
Many people rush into surgery because it’s covered by insurance, even though PRP may be a better option. What are the pros and cons of each?
Surgery should always be the last resort. Here’s why PRP is often a superior choice: it’s natural and safe, as PRP uses your own blood, eliminating the risk of foreign materials or rejection. It also requires minimal downtime—unlike surgery, PRP has little to no recovery time, with most patients returning to daily activities within a few weeks. Additionally, there is no risk of surgical complications. While surgery can be effective, it comes with high risks, from nerve damage to long recovery times. That being said, PRP is not a miracle cure for every case. If a patient has severe joint degeneration, such as complete bone-on-bone arthritis, surgery may be unavoidable. However, most patients should try PRP and regenerative treatments first before considering surgery.
You’re very passionate about avoiding surgery whenever possible. What inspired you to take this approach?
It’s personal. I’ve been a patient myself. I’ve suffered from back pain, torn shoulder muscles, and abdominal injuries from sports and car accidents. When doctors recommended surgery, I hesitated. Instead, I tried PRP therapy, and within six weeks, my pain was gone. That’s when I realized how powerful regenerative medicine is. I knew I had to help others avoid unnecessary surgeries and medications.
Many people don’t know about these alternatives, or they assume they’re too expensive. How can we make these treatments more accessible?
Education is key. We use social media to educate people about PRP and regenerative medicine, offer financial assistance to help patients afford treatments, and are expanding into new locations—including New York and Michigan—to help more patients. If people knew they had a natural, effective way to heal without surgery, many would choose PRP over traditional treatments.
For those suffering from chronic pain, what’s the most important piece of advice you can give?
Don’t wait until it’s too late. Chronic pain is easier to prevent than to reverse. Take care of your back, exercise regularly to strengthen your muscles, stay hydrated and eat an anti-inflammatory diet, and explore non-surgical treatments before considering surgery.
