Meditation can play a huge role in your overall wellness, as well as serve as the best mind-body medicine and lead to heightened personal awareness with numerous mental and physical benefits.

Regular practice of meditation can lead to alleviating many ailments that doctors tend to treat with medication including high heart rate, high blood pressure, high stress levels, high cholesterol, poor digestion, insomnia, arthritis, and headaches.  In addition, meditation can help to increase memory, reduce anxiety, lessen irritability, and improve your mood.

The Hashani Spa at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, AZ has experimented with introducing their guests that might not normally be interested in practicing, to meditation.  When the moon is full, the spa is offering guests a private poolside beer meditation.  The guided meditation with a licensed practitioner has been a hit with guests at this oasis in the desert.

Guests are welcomed to the private saline pool at the Hashani Spa, away from the hustle and bustle of the resort,  with a sage blessing and can sit poolside dangling their feet in the water or float in the pool during the meditation, which begins just after dark. Prior to the meditation guests can sip on beer provided by Crooked Tooth Brewery, as they wait for the sun to sink down.

As the moon rises guests are taken through the guided meditation and able to really enjoy the sanctuary and peaceful side of the resort, as well as be introduced to another side of wellness they might not be in touch with.
