How many times do we default to a position of self judgement, comparison to others and simply don’t show ourselves the compassion and understanding that we deserve? Probably more times than we should!
When we feel insecure, vulnerable or compromised in a way, instead of going into a space of judgement or panic, how about showing ourselves some understanding, acknowledging how we are feeling and caring for ourselves through it with compassion and patience.
We can view our feelings, thoughts and situations without judgement. We can view them objectively and with a sense of understanding towards them and ourselves. It all comes down to what perspective we choose to adopt. Think of a friend of yours and how you would give that person some advise and the level of compassion, understanding and rationale you would give their situation…
Self- care is one of most valuable things we can do for ourselves. We can care for the self in many different ways, whether it is reading a book with a cup of tea or practising compassion and patience. However you choose to show yourself care it will enable you to fill your own cup and when you can do this, you are able to share yourself and give so much more of yourself to others.
Self-care isn’t being selfish it’s showing yourself the same level of support and love you would to someone else you care about. Be friends with you it is one of the most important relationships you will have in your life!
