When given opportunities, it’s common to get excited initially, but then that monkey brain creeps in with all it’s imaginary scenarios and ‘reasons’ why you shouldn’t go for it.

Some will work through that fear and do it anyway.

Others, sadly will not and will shy away, never knowing what could have been.

I’m here to tell you that sometimes, the best way to get to where you want to, is to jump out of that plane with no parachute… And then you build one on the way down.

I don’t know about you but I’d rather take risks, huge risks, than live a nice comfortable life and get to the end of it feeling well rested and comfortable but not knowing what might have been- if only I had taken that leap.

You might not feel ready- here’s a secret for you. Hardly anyone is!

It’s highly unlikely that there will be a time where everything is perfectly lined up in your favour, and the truth is that the best way to feel ready is just to do it and trust in yourself that you will learn everything you need to along the way. By taking the leap you are leaving yourself no choice but to become who you need to be and to do what you need to do.

As human beings, however, our minds are naturally wired to look for the easy way.

The easy way is just to ignore it, to delay, to tell yourself you’ll do it some day. When you have more money, more time, less commitments, more knowledge, more confidence. There is always a reason NOT to go ahead, until you make the commitment to do it anyway.

But so many people choose to stay where they are comfortable, even when they know you have so much potential.

Do you choose to stay in that place rather than face the unknown?

And let’s talk about the unknown.

What could happen?

Some people might say ‘just focus on the positives’, I’m not going to say that and here’s why.

If you just block out all of your negative thoughts, they don’t go away.

Sure, they might go into hiding for a while, but they will still be there, lurking in the background, ready to come back with vengeance at any hint of weakness and every time they come back, they come back stronger.

More powerful.

Ready to drain your soul.

I’m going to ask you to face these wild thoughts and claim back your power.

What’s the worst that can happen?

Think about it.

Feel it.

Ask yourself how you’ll handle it if that happens.

Choose now how you’ll react if the very worst was to happen.

And decide how you will claw your way back up.

With strength.

With fire.

With determination.

Now ask yourself how likely that REALLY is to happen.

And turn it around…

What is the BEST that can happen?

Visualise it as if you are already there.

Feel it.

Taste it.

Become immersed in this scenario.

Now, ask yourself this one simple question.

Is it worth it?

Listen to the first voice that comes up… That’s your soul calling.

If the answer is YES, you know what to do.
