Don’t overthink the process of writing. There’s no right or wrong way to write. All that matters is your voice—your thoughts, how you feel, and what you want the world to know.

Have you ever considered being a writer? If you could make money for a story you have written, would you begin writing instead of just thinking about writing?

My suggestion is to begin writing. Being paid to write puts money in your pocket, and aids to achieving that imaginary life that seems impossible to obtain. I speak from a place of experience.

Writing a book about my life story opened up a world difficult to achieve for me. After doing so, I went on to pursue my degree in Law and Politics, and then everything took a turn at the personal injury firm where I worked.

When the doors closed on me at that firm, and employment was unstable, I decided to move forward with what was in my heart: creating a company, which started as a result of a book I had written.

Writing opens doors to so many opportunities. Given the right strategy, books/authorship can be a springboard into a new life – no matter your age. My suggestion: if you have something to say, or an idea bouncing around in your head, pause and let it out on your keyboard. Old school works too, just grab a pen and some paper.

It’s not difficult to start; it’s a matter of drafting a list of topics you want to cover. You can do this on your phone, in between text messages, through doodles…by the end of a day, you might have an entire outline for your book. And if prose isn’t your style, that’s okay—for poetry, it’s a matter of letting your emotions flow into words, expressions, art, etc. And don’t shy away from the emergence of new ideas as you brainstorm—if you think of something else you want to cover, make a note of it to come back to and keep going.

Don’t overthink the process of writing. There’s no right or wrong way to write. All that matters is your voice—your thoughts, how you feel, and what you want the world to know. It’s as natural as talking, so open your mouth and speak to your audience.

There’s money in writing, so get started. Once you’ve expressed all that you want to say, do the research for a reputable publisher, one that will take your words to their best level, with an editor in tow.
