What’s your life like now?

Are you living your best life?  Or, are you just muddling through?  Do, you hope, wish and pray that something will change but it never does? Do, you yearn to open your eyes and step into a new reality?  A reality where you are confidently striding towards your dreams and goals.  Even, though achieving your goals can be an uphill struggle.  Yes, the struggle can and will be real!  But isn’t the struggle worth it? If it leads you to being where you want to be!

Whether your goals and dreams are big or small they’re your dreams

Your dreams whether they are be big or small are your dreams.  They are unique to you and they are nobody else’s.  So, whether you want to: run the London or New York marathon, establish your own business or social enterprise, get married to a Hugh Jackman lookalike by 2025, write a best-selling novel, get a camper van and travel Route 66, skydive out of an aeroplane, become a contestant on the Great British Bake-off or become America’s next top model.   It is up to you to make your dreams and goals a reality!

Giving up on your dreams and goals means giving up on yourself

It is better to be moving towards your goals than to be drifting further away from them or worst still allowing them to disappear from your consciousness into inertia as if they were never there.    In, loosing or giving up on your dreams and goals you are giving up on yourself.  By, giving up on yourself you will be losing a little piece of you.   I don’t know about you, but I don’t intend to give up on myself or my dreams!  Also, I refuse to give up on what I want to achieve in the future and who I want to become.  So, how about you?  What, are you going to do?

What’s holding you back from achieving your dreams and goals?

Your dreams and goals need not remain a figment of your imagination.  You can and should realise them but all too often life gets in the way.  There may be numerous impediments stopping you from attaining your goals such as: studying, working very hard, looking after children, not having the time, loss of confidence, being stuck in the same old routine, procrastinating, viewing your dreams as unobtainable, fear of failure and the lists goes on and on. Whatever, your dreams and goals are you can make them come true if you are committed!  Don’t let any obstacles get in your way.

Sacrifices need to be made in order to make your dreams and goals come true

To make your dreams and goals come true sacrifices need to be made.  Sacrifices can be as simple as starting to say and mean ‘No’ to others and starting to prioritize yourself.  Or, it may be spending less time watching TV and planning on how you are going to get to where you want to be.  Another simple but healthy sacrifice for some may be not staying on late at work past the time you are supposed to finish your working day.  Can, you see that the sacrifices that I have listed are not impossible and in fact they are about promoting healthy and self-caring behaviours.

We can be our worst enemy and biggest obstacle

All too often we are our own worst enemy and our biggest obstacle!  So, how can you change this state of affairs?  Well, instead of being your worst enemy you can become your best friend and loudest cheerleader! Yes, it is important to be kinder to yourself, motivate yourself and encourage yourself on your journey.  To get to where you want to go may necessitate a reassessment of your core beliefs, values and motivations.  Also, it may involve a radical shift in terms of your mentality and behaviours.   It can and will be hard for you to embark on this journey because humans are creatures of ‘habit’.  However, it is important that you start to cultivate good habits and modify bad ones.  Remember, anything that is worthwhile is never easy.  So, are you up for the challenge?

The power of your imagination

Do you know that your imagination is a very potent force?  If great men and women had not used the power of their imaginations, we would not have made such great progress in the world and we’d still be stuck in the Dark Ages.  For example, take Leonardo Da Vinci not only was he a great painter, sculptor and polymath he imagined and drew flying craft centuries before the Wright Brothers invented and flew the first plane in 1903.  So, you see the power of imagination is a prerequisite for making your goals and dreams come true.

Albert Einstein, the world-famous Physicist stated that:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.  Imagination is the language of the soul. Pay attention to your imagination and you will discover all you need to be fulfilled.”

Finally, it does not matter who you are or how old you are it is never too late to start living and make your goals and dreams come true. Remember, “a goal without a plan is just a wish!” So, dream big!  Make sure you start planning and take action to ensure that your dreams and goals become a reality.
