“The critical inner voice that lives in our heads can be much louder than the loving, positive voice that cheers us on,” says Vicky Vlachonis, renowned integrative medical practitioner and author of The Body Doesn’t Lie. “When your inner critic gets too loud, remember that you have a choice.” It’s not always easy to tune out the voice of the critic that wants to bring you down, but Vlachonis explains that it’s important to amplify the voice that lifts you up instead. “We can choose to listen to the positive inner voice that represents our true selves,” she adds, “the one that helps us live our best lives.”
