What do you really want?
If your answer is “I don’t really know” then make sure that it’s not your LIMITING BELIEFS talking.
Speak confidently.
Own it.
If your life was exactly the same in five years time, would you feel happy, proud and fulfilled?
Close your eyes and think about five years from now. Imagine having the life that you truly dream of. Really see it.
Hear it.
Feel it around you.
What do you see? Better health? Stronger relationships? Time freedom? Financial security? Passive income? More family time? Greater self belief? A mastered skill? Deeper spiritual beliefs?
There is no ‘right’ answer. Your dream should be your dream and nobody else’s.
What would happen if you started taking action today, so that in five years time, that dream was real?
Don’t let doubt, answer this question.
Close your eyes and see it. Imagine that right now, you started your gym mission and stuck to it. Or imagine that you started to write that novel. Or that you started the process of becoming debt free.
See it, feel it and believe it.
How does it feel?
Now imagine five years from now, if you didn’t take action.
Envisage looking back at this exact moment, knowing that you had a choice but you chose not to begin? How does that feel?
What is stopping you? Limiting beliefs? Fear? Commitments? Resources? Support? Dwelling on what is bad, failure or having been let down in the past?
How would you feel, looking back at this moment, knowing that you had allowed something to stop you from making that change?
Change comes from ACTION.
You can take action! Fear. Failure.
Being hurt by the actions of others, does not have to stop you.
You don’t need to rewrite the book in order to succeed. Here are three ways to help goals turn into plans and then into success.
1- Set intentional goals that honour your values. Making your way up the career ladder may seem like a sensible goal but is that ladder resting against the right wall. As you climb the ladder, how will this affect the things that are most essential for you to feel happy, proud and fulfilled. Your goals must fill your heart and not just be what is expected of you.
2- Make specific goals. Instead of having the goal of being a better runner, create a goal of completing a running event. Instead of saying that you’d like to lose weight, determine the fat and muscle percentage that you want to achieve. Instead of deciding that you’d like to get a promotion, look at exactly what you want from that promotion.
3- Write down your dream goals or ideas. Use colour, picture and photos and allow them to create a mindset of success. Work backwards from them to your five year, three year and one year goals. Place them somewhere visible that you’ll see, several times a day and consciously read them. This will enable you to break it down further and ask, “What do I need to be doing right now, to put me on the right track?”
Life will inevitably offer enormous challenges and difficulties as you walk the path. Don’t get knocked off course. You are capable of greatness and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
