Hello Friends! It is time to talk about progress. I am always excited about sharing what is happening with the Create Life Project!
ACCESS
I mentioned I completed the paperwork for becoming a Minority /Women Owned Business Enterprise and I should have my certificate delivered this week. Not sure if I mentioned it, but I am working on an learning preference app. The app is free and the user is able to identify their preferred learning style based on a quick assessment. I am almost finished with the development process. When completed, the ACCESS Global Learning Preference App will be available for free on iTunes and Google Play. All in all, things are well and I am pleased with of our progress.
Financial
Deciding to save more aggressively has caused me to take a more thorough look at my frivolous spending. My progress is great but I surely need to curtail some of my behaviors. With that being said, I am on track for saving but my husband has decided we need to increase our family saving allocations for our move this summer. It is not a big deal but it gives me another item to monitor. Which suggests I will more than likely need to eliminate a few additional splurges, eek…
Oh well, its no big deal. I anticipate an outstanding outcome.
Family
I guess this is not as difficult as originally believed. We’ve been able to commit to spending time together regularly. We allow it to happen organically because setting appointments does not work for our family. We simple decided. Now instead of doing things in isolation, everything is a group project, which allows for meaningful dialogue about the day’s events. We fold laundry together and talk about fashion. We clean together and talk about our next home. It is about being actively engaged and present. It is working…
Nutrition
Last night while working on our morning smoothies, my daughters asked if they could have smoothies for breakfast too!! Yay! They help us do better. Of course I said yes! I never have to encourage them to make healthy choices they are fabulous! My husband and I can be horrible influences. Having the entire family focused on eating healthy makes life easy for me. Typically I would cook extra items to please the palate of my little ladies but not anymore. Together we are a movement. However, please understand, my girls are capable of staging a revolt at anytime so I’ll let you know if their interest in eating healthier last.
Fitness
I am enjoying my outdoor activities, but it is cold outside! Wearing layers sucks, but it is a necessary evil. A 10–20 degrees raise in temperature would be welcomed, but until then I will continue to brave the elements.
Spiritual
Prayer and mediations are most vital areas of interest. Nothing prepares me for my day like prayer and mediation. I incorporate gratitude activities, breathing rituals and daily planning during my morning sessions. This is how I successfully proceed through the days.
Steps to Staying on Track
Step 1: Focus — Remember your reasons for wanting change.
Step 2: Trust — Trust the process.
Step 3: Commitment — Be committed to the work.
Step 4: Support — Surround yourself with people who love and support you.
Step 5: Excellence — Own your truth and walk in excellence.
What I’ve learned:
You have to decide to want something different and pursue it. Of course there will be sacrifices and you may have to relinquish a few pleasures (Television). For example: I have to get good rest and sometimes that requires an early bedtime and I have to rise before the sun to accomplish my daily goals. When I go to bed at a respectable time and wake up early, my day flows wonderfully. This is one of my most significant sacrifices.
