Thrive Global and The Quaker Oats Company present The Fuel List—20 people changing the way we fuel our minds and bodies every day. These are the leaders making an impact in the worlds of sleep, nutrition, movement and mindfulness right now.
Retail veteran Khajak Keledjian is making meditation chic. He’s the brain behind INSCAPE, a brand focused on sharing the benefits of meditation through its brick and mortar New York City studio and app. The studio, located in Manhattan’s Flatiron neighborhood, features stylish, relaxing meditation rooms and daily classes that focus on meditations and mantras for everything from productivity and creativity to calm and happiness. A personal 10-year journey with meditation led Keledjian to create INSCAPE, where in-person visitors in New York and app-downloaders anywhere can access guided meditations, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques designed to help them connect with their best selves. Keledjian’s personal story is also a study in the entrepreneurial spirit. After moving from Lebanon to New York with his family in 1987, he founded the high-end boutique chain Intermix, eventually selling it to the GAP for $130 million.
“With INSCAPE, Keledjian has brought to life a piece of Marcus Aurelius’s timeless wisdom: that ‘there is nowhere that a person can find a more peaceful and trouble-free retreat than in his own mind.’ By urging us to look inward, Keledjian is helping us face our challenges with more clarity, calm and resilience. And as an immigrant to this country, he’s showing that the American Dream is not just about seeking a better life—it’s about using your own gifts to help others lead better lives, too.” — Arianna Huffington, Thrive Global Founder and CEO
