Thrive Global and The Quaker Oats Company present The Fuel List—20 people changing the way we fuel our minds and bodies every day. These are the leaders making an impact in the worlds of sleep, nutrition, movement and mindfulness right now.
Art Smith is one of the biggest names in the movement for improved nutrition education and home cooking. Smith has been a force in the culinary world for years, having served as chef to Oprah Winfrey as well as several Florida governors, but it’s his openness about his own weight loss journey and his dedication to helping kids make healthier food choices that have helped him become a role model for better well-being through food. In addition to co-founding Common Threads, a non-profit dedicated to teaching kids and families about nutrition and cooking, Smith has written three award-winning cookbooks (Back to the Table, Kitchen Life: Real Food for Real Families and Back to the Family) and operates several restaurants throughout the U.S.
“I chose influential chef Art Smith because he made a personal commitment to health in his own life and infuses it into his cooking in a balanced way.” — Candice Morgan, Head of Diversity and Inclusion, Pinterest
Editor’s Note: Common Threads, the non-profit co-founded by Art Smith, receives support from Quaker among other corporations.
