“Every choice you make has an end result” ~ Zig Ziglar

There’s always a new choice that can be made…you’ll just have to deal with the consequences of every choice that you make until you make the next choice…

I have a 3 kids, a husband who works crazy hours at his family’s farm and me, who runs a successful global mentoring business. I live in the middle of nowhere in a small town and don’t really tolerate the BS that happens to happen in a small town — and the biggest lesson from the last couple of weeks came from one of my children.

I think it’s interesting that my children give me the BEST lessons in life.

My daughter (Miss 15 going on 25) had a boyfriend and she had a crush on another guy. She asked me for advice on what to do and so I went through the somewhat torturous process of what her options were. Break with boy #1 and go out with boy #2, but you’ve got to be careful about how quickly you do this because people can say stuff that’s not very kind, yada yada yada. (You other Mumma’s out there know what I mean!)

The biggest piece of advice that I thought was worthwhile (and crazy awesome, because well, I’m her mother and I know best, right) was this: ‘No matter what choice you make, NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is set in stone. You can ALWAYS change your mind and make a new choice”.

I think about the ‘stuff’ that tends to hold people back — and much of the time it’s feeling GUILTY because they want to change their mind but ‘can’t’ or ‘won’t’.

You can ALWAYS make a new choice. A new decision.

It’s NEVER TOO LATE to reinvent yourself, your business, your life, your career, your relationship, your parenting or even your wardrobe!

You CAN ditch the job. You CAN start something new.

You CAN stop being in a horrible marriage.

You CAN ALWAYS change your mind.

Nothing, absolutely NOTHING is set in concrete.

It all comes down to making the next choice. Then the next choice. Then the next choice.

So, HOW do you know when it’s time to make a new choice?

Well, the BIGGEST indicator is that you’re unhappy in some area of your life. It could be career, your social life, your finances or even your health. There will be something that’s been rattling around in your brain giving you clues that something needs to shift and change.

And it’s that point where you have the realisation that something needs to shift, that you actually need to go and do something about it.

Doing the same thing over and over again whilst expecting a different result is insanity ~ Albert Einstein

Change can be hard. It can also be easy.

Accepting that change is an inevitable part of growth is a must.

Accepting that growth and change are intrinsically linked is a must.

Knowing that you can always make new choices is liberating.
