In a world where we our communication is becoming increasingly digital, it’s easier than ever to connect with others. Doing so is great for us both mentally and spirtually. It can be online or in person, or a combination of both. Talking to and interacting with other people has many positive effects on our lives. Here are just a few of them:

  • It boosts our mood.
  • It creates new opportunities and friendships.
  • It bolsters existing connections and work flows.
  • It gives us a break from busy work and large projects.
  • It allows us to practice our interpersonal skills.
  • It reduces stress and overwhelm.
  • It grows our network and opportunities.
  • It can improve the quality of our life.
  • It can improve our health and enable us to live longer.

Because the practice of connecting with other humans is so vital, we have to put extra effort into it in order to make it happen. This isn’t always very intuitive to us, though, when we have so many other things going on.

Here are a few ways that we can make it happen and boost our sense of connection with those around us:

  • By joining social or business groups.
  • By setting up lunch and dinner dates with others.
  • By inviting people for a virtual coffee.
  • By joining a gym or another place where people come together.
  • By accepting invitations from others.
  • By attending conferences or taking courses.
  • By picking up new hobbies and playing games.
  • By joining a team.
  • By going for a walk or run.

All of these methods will help us up our level of human connection and interaction which has so many positive benefits for our lives as previously mentioned. This will become even more important in the future as we rely more and more on technology for our interactions. So, why not use one (or more) of these methods to boost your current level of connection, and reap the rewards from doing so?
