Let’s be frank, you can’t measure success in life on a daily, weekly or even a monthly basis. Success in life is most times a ride. We live in a world where so many people are obsessed about material things, it is so easy to take success as the amount in your account. However, the reality is that in life whether you have so much money or not there will be accomplishments and failures. There will be struggles and successes. There will be Yeses and Nos.

Whether you are trying to attain a degree or get physically in shape, success may not be an acquirable state. It can be learned. No one really knows how their life will turn out to be or if they will accomplish all their goals or not. However you can learn to be successful and make so much out of life on your own two feet.

Yet this article is not about my ideas or perceptions of success. We should be able to peer into other successful persons and know what success means to them or what it truly feels like.

“Too many people measure how successful they are by how much money they make or the people that they associate with. In my opinion, true success should be measured by how happy you are.”

 – Richard Branson

“To live the lives we truly want and deserve, and not just the lives we settle for, we need a Third Metric a third measure of success that goes beyond the two metrics of money and power, and consists of four pillars: well-being, wisdom, wonder, and giving.”

  • Arianna Huffington

“To me, the definition of success is waking up in the morning with a smile on your face, knowing it’s going to be a great day. I was happy and felt like I was successful when I was poor, living six guys in a three-bedroom apartment, sleeping on the floor.”

  • Mark Cuban

“Success in life could be defined as the continued expansion of happiness and the progressive realization of worthy goals.”

  • Deeepak Chopra

“Success isn’t how much money you have. Success is not what your position is. Success is how well you do what you do when nobody else is looking.”

John Paul DeJoria

“If you help people every day, and don’t trample over good people, or crush the less knowledgeable, and exercise kindness while in pursuit of your business and life goals, you will feel a sense of accomplishment each day, and your creating success. Success is a verb, ongoing. It’s better to feel success each day, and grow it, then to feel you are searching for success. Life changes, so think of success as pliable, supple. If you feel overwhelmed with pressure and stress during your “journey of success” you might consider your goal of success, as some future destination, is the wrong track for you to be on; you may never get there, or run out of gas trying.”-Jay Weinber

“I’m not really interested in making money. That’s always come as the result of success, but it’s not been my goal. I’ve always had a tough time proving that to people.” —Steven Spielberg

“My definition of failure became not trying.” —Sara Blakely

“I’ve never run into a guy who couldn’t win at the top level and didn’t have the right attitude, didn’t give it everything he had.” —Ted Turner

“Peace of mind attained only through self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do the best of which you’re capable,” – John Wooden.

“Think of success as a game of chance in which you have control over the odds. As you begin to master concepts in personal achievement, you are increasing your odds of achieving success.” – Bo Bennett

“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” – Maya Angelou

“I define success as living my true purpose and having a positive impact on the lives of people by uplifting them and inspiring them to think and act in ways that they may not have considered before.”

— Raj Sisodia, co-founder of Conscious Capitalism and professor at Babson College

“Success could be that defining point that helps influence employees, customers and a community in an equal measure. At the end of the day, it comes down to how much positive value you can infuse into people’s lives from a professional and personal standpoint.” – Vali, Kegel Tools.
