Rom Raviv is an entrepreneur and host of the Spreading Success Podcast – a podcast that interviews some of the most elite entrepreneurs in the game. Rom’s Podcast was also rated amongst the Top 50 marketing podcast.
Rom also runs a podcast editing agency, that helps people turn their passion for podcasting into a full-time gig.
A while ago I spoke with Rom and I asked him a few questions about himself, his podcast and his journey so far, here’s our conversation;
1. Tell me a little bit about yourself?
My name is Rom Raviv and I am an 18-year-old entrepreneur from Long Island, New York. I own a podcast called the Spreading Success Podcast as well as a podcast editing agency called Podblade.
I created Podblade to help people take their podcasts seriously and have the first-mover advantage with this young trend.
2. What inspired you to start your podcast?
Casey Adams was my number one inspiration for starting my podcast. I attended an event called Breakthru and he got to show me exactly how the podcasting game works and I was instantly motivated to do something of my own.
Another motivating factor was understanding the endless opportunities a podcast provides that many people aren’t even aware of such as monetization and leveraging your guests.
3. What values and principles do you follow to get the job done?
For me, the two biggest things are discipline and organization. If you have clear goals and things that you need to get done and are disciplined, there is nothing that can stop you. Also, just seeing the end goal continuously inspired me to keep pushing forward no matter what obstacles come my way.
4. What advice do you have for young individuals finding it hard to maintain and grow their podcasts?
I would say that consistency is the most important thing. I post at least 1 episode per week and then use platforms such as YouTube and Instagram to promote the shows. I would also say that taking advantage of every guest’ audience is a key factor in audience growth.
5. Which individuals do you look up to?
So far, there have been tons of meaningful people in my life, however, the two people that I look up to the most are Gary Vaynerchuk and Andy Frisella. Their podcasts are the only ones that I listen to consistently.
6. What’s your favorite book?
Currently, my favorite book is Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. This book helped me view money in a very different way than society teaches us.
