Being in the now is more difficult than you think. When you think of being in the ‘now’, you may think of sitting, legs crossed, somewhere peaceful. Being in the ‘now’ is becoming elusive and demanding! Our busy schedules can make it difficult to find the time to sit and experience the present moment.

Trying to free our minds at any given time, to a state of calm and present can be challenging. I struggled with it at first to a point where I decided that I couldn’t stop thinking even if I tried. But the most joyous experiences happen when we’re present. My experience of meditation is not about forcing my mind to be completely still. It’s about letting go of resistance, being in the now. Experiencing this present moment without doubt, worry or uncertainty.

The present moment can only be as it is. So rather than thinking and feeling how this moment should be. Or how it could be better, it takes only 10 minutes to bring yourself into the now. It might seem like you don’t have time. In reality we fill our days with activities or pursuit. Take a moment to press pause. Meditation is the ability to press pause and to be in the present moment.
