Tomas is currently the Chief Talent Scientist at Manpower Group, co-founder of Deeper Signals and Metaprofiling, and Professor of Business Psychology at University College London and Columbia University. His book Why Do So Many Incompetent Men Become Leaders?’ was named  Business Book of the Month by the Financial Times and one of “14 business books everyone will be reading in 2019” by Business Insider.

Tomas was born and raised in the Villa Freud district of Buenos Aires, but he spent most of my professional career in London. He now lives in Brooklyn.

1.What are you reading at the moment?

AI Superpowers: China, Silicon Valley, and the New World Order

2. What’s keeping you awake at night?

Nothing. I don’t need much sleep but sleep very deeply when I do (as my Oura ring confirms, and I confess I have become a sleep analytics junkie recently)

3. What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

My vital organs, but if you are looking for a more metaphorical or superficial answer, then probably my family or WiFi, (which is part of our family ).

4. What is the hardest thing you overcame?

Leaving South America to start from scratch in Europe, (especially coming from South America): that was a big challenge and it took some time and dedication for sure.

5. How did you get out of your own way ?

I spend a great deal of time trying to manage myself: tactically and strategically. There is no other way, unless you are blessed with a wonderful personality (definitely not my case).
