Top 5 Ways To Safely Work On Your Acting Career During Covid-19 By Jason Goldwin Chang
The Coronavirus Pandemic has dramatically changed the Entertainment Industry. From productions being shut down, to online auditions becoming the new norm. It’s more important than ever that we understand these changes and instead of making it affect our career negatively, use it as an advantage to even further our career. Below are the top 5 ways you can safely continue your acting career during Covid-19.
Produce your own content. Self-production has never been more important than it is right now. From commercials to voice over projects. Casting is asking actors to film and record jobs at home. And although it might be hard to get used to at first, it could be a real easy way for actors to book jobs and financially support themselves during this pandemic.
Work on your fitness and health. This is a great time for us to work on our mental and physical health because although isolation can be tough, it can also give us time to ourselves. Which is very important as well.
Work on your craft. This is a great time for all us actors and performers to polish our skills. May that be singing, acting, or dancing. We can take this time to make our weaknesses, our strengths. Many prestigious institutions are offering online courses. So working on your craft could never be more time efficient.
Work on getting representation. Although, many productions have been put to a halt, and auditions have decreased. Agents and managers are still looking for talent for submissions and now that we have free time on our hands, we can take advantage of that by submitting and contacting agencies. Many of whom are doing online zoom meetings and signing talent remotely.
Last but not least, please remember to take time to rest and recharge. A good amount of relaxation will allow us to be even more productive in the long run. We want to make sure that we balance our career and health, because if we don’t, it can take a huge toll on our bodies and lifestyle.
