A J Leon is a remarkable misfit (self-labeled) and the author of the book — The Life & Times of a Remarkable Misfit. He says the not so obvious problem with waiting, is that the more one does it, the better they get at it.
Why do we wait?
We wait for perfect.
We wait for the perfect start time. We wait to acquire the perfect amount of knowledge and skill. We wait until we are able to guarantee a perfect outcome.
There’s only one problem. And it’s a big one.
There’s no perfect time to start nor will you ever have the perfect amount of knowledge or skill and guaranteed perfect outcomes don’t exist.
While waiting for perfect, Seth Godin says. “You’ve permitted magical to walk on by. Not to mention good enough, amazing and wonderful.”
Who among us could not use a serving of magical, good enough, amazing or wonderful?
Waiting And Patience are Not The Same Thing
Patience is not sitting and waiting, it is foreseeing. It is looking at the thorn and seeing the rose, looking at the night and seeing the day. Lovers are patient and know that the moon needs time to become full. ~Rumi
Waiting should never be confused with patience.
Waiting is delayed action. Patience is the attitude you adopt while taking action.
You should endeavor to be patiently active.
We all have potential. However, it does not activate itself on the sidelines. You have to jump in and get your hands dirty. That’s the only way to create life’s legendary moments.
Life does not begin when you decide you’re ready. Time does not start counting when you find the courage to approach the starting gate. Eventually, you’ll run out of both.
Don’t get good at something you have no business getting good at.
Don’t allow waiting to become a habit you perfect.
