This is exactly what the team at Digital Aerolus has done this week. The past three weeks the entire team in Lenexa, Kansas have been “heads down” creating a brand new delivery tool to disinfect against COVID-19. They announced the development of the Aertos 120 UVC drone. It combines the disinfection power of UVC light with their unique industrial drone platform.
What makes them unique? They are the only drones designed specifically to fly indoors and in confined spaces. Pairing this with UVC disinfection capabilities means they can offer a new way to significantly reduce health risks for humans on the front line of the fight against COVID-19.
“As this global crisis has unfolded, we’ve been committed to developing an innovative and accessible solution to wage war against COVID-19 and mitigate the risk to humans worldwide,” said co-founder Jeff Alholm.

Using UVC energy to disinfect isn’t new, but our delivery method is. The method matters, because it helps to keep people safe amid a pandemic.”
UVC light sanitation technology is currently used in healthcare but many of the UVC lights are very large, cost-prohibitive or impractical to deploy for many organizations. The concept-brought-to-life of combining their industrial drones with small but powerful UVC lights allows more organizations to access and use UVC disinfecting tactics quickly. This means access to a larger number of people and businesses able to utilize this technology.
The company partnered with global tech leader CDW to assist with orders and distribution, ensuring an infrastructure to deliver to those who need it most. According to the company, “the Aertos 120-UVC will be available in volume in May through Digital Aerolus partners and resellers including CDW.”
