As an entrepreneur, it is easy to become consumed by our businesses, with fast-paced family life and friendships. It is easy to forget the importance of being present in the moment as we are continually chasing our tail. It can feel quite thankless and lonely as we are on our own most of the time – especially if you’re a solopreneur and you don’t have a team yet.
However, it was National Random Acts of Kindness Day last month, which gave me the amazing idea to encourage people to share a little kindness each and every day!
Let me share with you my top takeaways for you to see how sharing a little kindness into the world is important in your journey as an entrepreneur.
Share Kindness to Someone Who Delivered a Service
I want you to really pay attention to anyone who goes out of their way to provide you with an great service. Whether it be on the online space or when you are out and about, I would love for you to go out of your way to make them feel amazing!
Start by taking their name, their line managers name or number and I want you to write a review to their boss about how amazing they’ve been. Find a way to shout about and praise their good work!
Enrich your Thank You’s
Although, saying a simple ‘thank you’ might seem like a given. There is a huge difference between saying an automatic thanks to the person who held the door open for you and saying THANK YOU SO MUCH.
This simple play on words shows to me that they mean it from their hearts of hearts but also more importantly when I say that to someone it lights me up because I am being mindful of the fact that I am actually saying thank you and it’s not just a meaningless passive comment.
So, remember to enrich your thank you’s and make them more heartfelt and genuine!
Earn and Then GIVE BACK
I feel that we have a massive mission as women, to become rich beyond our wildest dreams so that we can invest in other things that will help other people grow and to be able to change the world for the greater good.
Always remember that money is not everything… don’t be selfish in believing that you are here just for you. I can ensure you that you are here on this planet for something much bigger than you can even imagine just now. You are here to serve on a much higher plane than you can even comprehend.
So for this tip, it is all about giving back! Whether that’s visiting a cat and dog home with some food and treats for the animals or something bigger such as offering someone who is struggling financially an opportunity to work for you. Use the resources and wealth available to you to do something good with it!
Remember to Stay Mindful
Now I am all for staying mindful, especially as entrepreneurs it can often be tough to bring yourself into the present moment with the never-ending list of things to do. So I want you to take a minute and find a clean sheet of paper and a pen and I want you to go through your day from beginning to end and write down every single thing that you achieved today.
It could be as small as ‘I made a cup of tea for my Mum’ or ‘I took my dog for a walk’. You may look at that list and think to yourself it doesn’t really seem like I’ve got much done. Now, let me tell you a fact. There will be people out there that would look at your list and who would be desperate for the opportunity to tick off just one of those boxes. All of these tiny things that we often overlook are sometimes the things that make the biggest impact in our lives.
Make someone feel good!
Now it’s time to make someone feel really good about themselves.
I want you to write down 5 things about someone that you haven’t had contact within the last few weeks or months. It could be a high school friend or a family member who you don’t get the chance to see as much as you hope. Now, I want you to think of 5 way in which they make you smile or inspire you or have even helped you and what that has meant to you. Then send it out to them!
Donate
This one is always my favourite. You can put a smile on someone face by donating something for free. For example, you could donate a plant to someone who loves plants or you could bake a cake and give it to one of your neighbours. You could donate some toys to a children’s charity or hospital. It could even be that you donate some of your time. There are so many things and ways you can donate that will make someone smile.
I really hope you liked these 6 tips and put them to good use Don’t forget to catch up on my Unstoppable Mastermind Facebook Group for all of the live video content and don’t forget to share the love!
