I really wanted it.

The end result.

The success.

The “woo-hoo!” moment of stepping through the stick to the other side and even hearing cheers from the people standing around me.

So I courageously (?) volunteered to go first.

I had watched him demonstrate how to do it and I was ready, excited to do this thing.

I stepped up to the stick.

With the facilitator’s help, I placed one end of the stick on my throat in that soft, hollow spot that feels especially sensitive and delicate.

I positioned myself to step through the stick.

And then I froze.

I froze in fear.

Fear that I didn’t really watch the demo well enough.

Fear that I’d do it wrong . . . because I was no longer sure of how to do it exactly right.

Fear that because I thought it had to be exactly right, I’d get hurt if I did it wrong. There was a big stick placed up against the soft spot of my throat, after all.

I tried to figure it out in my head.

I rehearsed and re-rehearsed the demo.

But there were parts I forgot.

I didn’t know how to position my legs like he did so that I could walk forward and break through the stick that symbolized the barriers between where I was and where I wanted to be.

And I stayed frozen.

Thoughts swirling in my head, focused on all the things that could go wrong.

What if I don’t know enough?

What if I do it wrong?

What if something bad happens . . . like the stick puncturing my throat?

I never got the result I wanted.

I was stopped.

Stuck.

And frustrated because it was a picture of so many other things in my life at the time, too.

Can you relate?

Is there an “it” that you really want?

That you might make some movement toward, but then get stopped and stay stuck?

Maybe you wonder what’s going on . . . like there MUST be something wrong with you because you can’t achieve this thing that you want so badly.

Truth is?

There’s nothing wrong with you.

You’re just doing what I did.

You’re believing the stories.

You know . . .

Those thoughts in the back of your head that you’ve had for so long you almost don’t know they’re there until they make an appearance right when you want that thing.

Or those deeper, unconscious beliefs that silently run your life without you being aware of them until stuff like this happens over and over again.

You live from that place.

It’s who you’re being.

What you’re feeling.

What you’re thinking.

And what you’re doing.

And it’s certain that you will get more of the same. It’s certain that you won’t get what you want.

Until you change the underlying stories.

And then your result is just as certain.

When your being, thinking, feeling and doing is in alignment with where you want to be, it’ll happen.

‘Cause here’s the thing.

Your unconscious beliefs and stories are the source of your perspectives, expectations, thoughts, feelings and actions.

They’re the driver.

The foundation.

The underlying key to why manifesting hasn’t worked for you before, or at least hasn’t worked sustainably.

Your actions will ALWAYS revert back to being in alignment with what’s going on in your unconscious beliefs.

ALWAYS.

And you’re always in alignment. You’re always manifesting.

You’re either in alignment with what you don’t want and you’re manifesting stuff you don’t want, or you’re in alignment with what you do want and you’re manifesting those things.

What’s dictating that is who you’re being – who you are, what you’re feeling, what you’re thinking, what you’re doing.

You can’t just get pumped up and excited to do a thing.

You can’t just choose to do it and try harder.

You can’t just “manifest” by thinking positively.

Because the underlying stuff is still running the show like it was doing for me with the stick.

But when you change your beliefs, everything changes.

Becoming aware of your unconscious stories and eliminating them is one of the main keys to manifesting what you want.

So, how about you?

When it comes to manifesting your dreams, is your being, thinking, feeling and doing in alignment with what you want, or what you don’t want?

What unconscious stories are running your
show?
