There are times in a person’s life that are pivotal in regards to their experiences and the message they must share. A time as such has been for me being diagnosed with mental illness at twenty four years of age and coming to own my illness at age fifty six.

God allows you to live through these experiences for a purpose bigger than your own awareness. They form the core of the message you must share. I believe what you go through and you learn is for the purpose of helping others and being able to be of service to them.

Serving yourself may seem warranted but in time you will come to a place where there is a gaping hole. The awareness you gain through what you live is essential to be used to help others that are in the same situation, and their loved ones, and serve them by sharing your message of how you came to the surface.

When God gives you a talent, is not for you to keep it to yourself. That is a talent that you must put to use and nurture it so it will yield fruit. The fruit of that talent is the extent you are able to help others and serve them with what you have learned in your life journey.

Self-service is pleasant but it’s similar to taking the talent and locking it away in a vault so it will not be lost. Whereas the only way it will grow is by putting it to service and giving it meaning and purpose. Coming from a place of service, and sharing a message that serves, may seem fruitless but it really is the best of ourselves giving to others. That message is never lost.
