We all have days when we don’t feel on top of the world and a random chocolate covered peanut is the best we can hope for.

I’m one of the first to bang on about positivity, and I believe what we think determines how we feel, but I also believe when the blues come along or we feel low or tired or bored or anything less than ideal… IT’S OKAY.

There’s wisdom in looking within and listening to what our thoughts and feelings teach us. There is also wisdom in accepting that sometimes we just feel ‘off’ and it’s not necessarily a message from our higher self. It’s simply part of the wonderful ebb and flow of life.

It’s a wise person indeed who knows when to stop pulling at the knot and, instead, relaxes and allows it to unravel.

And that is one of the keys to life… to allow.

I love the concept of allowing. When we resist the inevitable, or when we try to force things to go a certain way, we invariably feel even more emotional discomfort or pain.

When we allow life to happen, it seems to flow beautifully. Or perhaps it’s us who flow beautifully through life. Either way, we are happier when we accept, allow and let go.

I love the wisdom found within the tales of Winnie the Pooh, especially the quote about respecting anybody who can spell Tuesday… “You can’t help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn’t spell it right; but spelling isn’t everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn’t count” – A.A. Miline.

However you feel right now, allow it to happen. What does it matter if you can’t spell Tuesday anyway?

Let the energy flow, don’t get caught up in perfectionism and rigidity.

You might be on the road to enlightenment or you may be tired (feel free to substitute an adjective of your choice!).

Please give yourself a break, it’s okay to not be on top of the world all the time.

Go watch a comedy, sink into a fabulous book, buy some glitter pens, have more naps… do whatever helps you to lighten up and take the pressure off.  We often place so many expectations upon ourselves, or accept them from others, and I’m telling you… it’s ok to feel rubbish sometimes.
