It doesn’t matter if its Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Hanukkah; breaks where the majority of people get time off from work can be a fun but also a stressful time for some. If you are an entrepreneur or business owner, this could be a time where you are super productive, not productive, or just stressed out.

Now the reason you are stressed could be various reasons from you are too focused on your business that you can’t take a break, you are a little sad after a recent break up leaving you single for the holidays, or you just aren’t much of a holiday person.

I’m not going to tell you to do one thing or the other thing but instead, I want to provide a little insight for you into how you can use any holiday season for a time to reset and come out of it being the best version of yourself.

Connecting With Different Types of People

Coming from someone like myself who talks to people on a daily basis from around the world mostly via technology who all usually fall in the category of an entrepreneur or business owner, it’s nice to find some time to connect with people not in those circles.

Yes, I truly believe it’s important to be around others that inspire you, educate you, and have similar goals for their life but the holiday season brings people from all walks of life together. This can actually be a really good thing for your mind and business.

It can help reassure you that you are pursuing the right path in life after seeing your cousin for the first time in 5 years and realizing that he just doesn’t have that passion for life anymore. But you can be the catalyst to help bring that passion out in them.

Being around others that maybe have some questions or aren’t sure of their direction in life will help your mind and business because if you have your shit together, people will be able to see that and will want to know more about how you do it.

So if the opportunity presents itself to be around others that you aren’t normally around because well its the holidays, then I suggest you take this an opportunity to grow and be a better person.

After all its situations like sitting around the fire or playing board games as a family or with friends where memories are created or the next great idea might pop into your head.

We All Need to Just Soak Up Life More

Over the past four years, I’ve been unfortunate to find out that three people I’ve known have either taken their lives or lost their life. This is serious stuff that I don’t think is talked about enough to loved ones or the general public.

Life is a precious thing and we should all not take it for granted. Something I’ve learned from experiencing losing people that I shared a bond or friendship with is that not everything is guaranteed in life. Each day brings its own struggles, surprises, and miracles and it’s up to all of us to take life day by day and seize as many opportunities as we can.

The holiday season creates genuine time for friends and family and this is one of the few times of year where I decide to basically throw my phone and technology away for a few days to focus on the people around me.

Telling stories, sharing insights, having debates, staying up late, waking up early. This is all important to refresh your mind and breathe new life into your business.

How You Can Seize The Holiday Season

The last insight that I want to leave you with to really seize the holiday season for yourself moving forward is that there is always more money to be made, another customer to find, or another person to please, but the times you get with your loved ones will not last forever so take advantage of it while you can.

I think you deserve a break. So put your phone down and go enjoy life.
