What made you take the leap into entrepreneurship?
I was at a very low point of my life and was willing to do anything and everything to get a chance at success. A successful person recommended that I read this book called “Rich Dad Poor Dad” and it would change my life. It did just that and then I became obsessed with reading books and seeking knowledge. Consequently, I found out about e-commerce and started dropshipping and I went from literally zero to six figures in a little over a year while helping and inspiring others along the way.
What was your mission at the outset?
My life long mission has always been to ultimately serve others and make a huge impact on people’s lives. First and foremost to take care of my mother and my little brothers and then to really just become a pedestal for the young generation to overcome and break the barriers and realized that the only limits that we have for ourselves are self imposed so are potential is limitless only when we decide to see it that way.
To what do you attribute your success?
I definitely attribute my success to the first book I ever read which was “Rich Dad Poor Dad” because it transformed my life and made me become a self learning machine at 18 years old which allowed me to discover all of the things that I know now. That book sparked the fire that led me to discover Tony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, Gary Vee, Jim Rohn, and many other who inspired me and changed my life forever and also influence my love for reading which allowed me to read over 50 books.
What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur?
Nothing in the world beats the power of persistence. There is no such thing as failure, only lessons. When you “fail” at something, you simply just found a way that doesn’t work and if you keep doing that you’ll eventually run out of ways that don’t work and will eventually find the way the does work, just as Thomas Edison discovered the light bulb. So success is inevitable, it just depends on how persistent you are at achieving it.
What is the most unpopular opinion you have on entrepreneurship?
I absolutely hate that people think being an entrepreneur is easy! People don’t realize that it takes countless hours of hard work, great levels of risks, devastating setbacks, and unbelievable amounts of pressure. You will without a doubt spend more time building your businesses then you will at a 9-5 but you have to be willing to slave for yourself 24/7 or slave for someone else 9-5. Most people can’t take this and that’s the reason 80% of businesses fail.
What has been your greatest moment of success?
When I bought my dream car which was a Tesla Model S. It wasn’t just the car itself that was so significant but rather just having something on my vision board for 2 years at a time where I thought it was impossible to attain and then finally accomplishing it and reflecting on how I was able to overcome all those trials and tribulations, and all those self doubts and setbacks. I will never forget that feeling that made me deeply realized within myself that nothing is impossible and we can all achieve anything that we set our minds to.
If you had one piece of advice to someone first starting out, what would it be?
Make your own future! You are in complete control of your life. 100% responsibility equals total power. Once you take full responsibility of yourself, your life will change at that moment. Start working towards your dreams NOW. You only get to live one life so you might as well go for it!
