I mean. Don’t misunderstand me. I love inspirational quotes. I even have written a book that starts every chapter with one or two inspirational quotes. Inspirational quotes helped me change my life. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s start at the beginning

Inspirational quotes are great. I read them since I can think.
They helped me when my father died, they helped me when toxic relationships ended, they gave me a boost of happiness when I was in a job I didn’t like, they helped a lot when my marriage went sour.

I even read inspirational quotes on Fridays. Shortly before going partying and “shooting my lights out” with five to six Vodka and Red Bull.

The problem was that after reading the inspirational quotes I kept on partying as if there was no tomorrow, I kept on being stuck in a job I didn’t like, I kept on having toxic relationships, and later on, my marriage kept on going sour.

Inspirational quotes are great, but if you don’t follow up with action, if you don’t make mini changes, if they don’t take you out of your comfort zone, you can read inspirational quotes all your life, and you will keep on feeling stuck, miserable or unhappy.

Use them to get you into action. Start applying them. “The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek” means absolutely nothing if you don’t take all your courage together to enter the cave, to face your fears. Einstein’s definition of insanity “the purest form of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results” is absolutely useless if you keep on doing what you were always doing after reading it, because yes, you saw it coming: You will keep getting the same results.

Einstein’s quote was actually the one that got me out of my rut. I finally noticed that if I want to change my life I have to DO things differently. When I stopped just reading inspirational quotes and started doing what they propose my whole life changed in a way beyond my imagination.

I went from jobless to Bestselling author with more than 170,000 downloads and sales on Amazon, my book 30 DAYS has been translated into ten languages and is currently rocking Japan. I’m on TV, Radio. Podcasts, but the best of all is that most of my relationships are super healthy, I haven’t had a Vodka Red Bull in years, my divorce is on its way, and I am in the best relationship I could imagine.

I still have the occasional setbacks, losses, and failures (the crowdfunding campaign for my next book “Destination Happiness” is failing epically right now on Kickstarter) – those are inevitable. They happen. They are part of life.

And when they happen…I read an inspirational quote or two.
And then I regroup, make new strategies, look for new alternatives, and get back to work.

Try it. It’s fun.
