What Is Mindfulness?

It entails being in the moment. To achieve maximum effect, you have put your mind at ease.

Your mind stays blank, fixated on nothing but the continuous flow of breath from your lungs. Mindfulness was originally adapted from ancient Buddhist traditions.

Clinical psychologists all over the world, oftentimes use mindfulness for the treatment of depression and drug addiction

How does it work?

Mindfulness works by putting your mind at rest. This may seem impossible especially because the mind almost always drifts away in times of concentration. Never mind. It takes continuous practice.

Take a seating position, close your eyes, take deep breaths and exhale. Let your concentration be on the inward and outward exhalation of air from your body. Do this continuously for as long as you can.

Mindfulness can be done whilst walking, moving or sleeping. Keeping your eyes closed may not be necessary.

Benefits of Mindfulness

Workplace anxieties are the leading causes of mental and physical breakdown. Mindfulness helps to refresh and revitalize the mind. It improves your rate of assimilation, improves your focus and enhances mental retention.

As part of its benefits, mindfulness puts you in control of your emotions. You remain relaxed even if there are looming deadlines for completion of work projects. It helps you to make decisions, even under pressure.

Globally, leading business executives use meditation as a tool for daily revitalization.
