Our favorite female superhero is tackling a new type of evil: High heels.
Gal Gadot, star of the new “Wonder Woman” film, is committed to comfort on the red carpet. According to the Huffington Post, Gadot has pledged to only wear flats while doing promotional work on the film’s press tour.
In an interview with USA Today, Gadot spoke of her desire to turn comfort into a style movement. “I want to create this trend of doing red carpets in flats,” Gadot said. “I love wearing high heels, it’s beautiful, it’s sexy, whatever. But at the same time, especially stilettos, it puts us out of balance. We can fall any minute. It’s not good for our backs. Why do we do it? I can wear high heels. But I was like, ‘Let’s wear flats!’ I’ve been waiting for this moment.”
So far Gadot has been spotted in a pair of Christian Louboutin flats, Tod’s sneakers and $50 metallic sandals from ASOS.
