Maybe for a short amount of time COVID-19 has forced the companies to manage their employees to work from home. At first sight, this may seem odd but we can also learn that productivity and work-life balance gaps could be minimized under pressure. Google, Microsoft, Twitter, Apple, Amazon, Spotify all these big companies rolled out work from home policy amid the spread of COVID-19.
COVID-19 has been officially categorized by the World health organization (WHO) as a pandemic. Many schools, colleges, and universities have stopped working. This epic pandemic has raised the question that there will be a need for infrastructure and policy needed for remote workers in the future. Due to the economic impact of “social distance” due to COVID -19, Question has raised about the modern economy. According to the 2018 American Time Use Survey, less than a quarter of all full-time workers work at all from home on an average day, and even those workers typically spend well less than half of their working hours at home.
Also due to COVID-19, many are unable to travel from one place to another. We should figure out what are the categories of jobs that can be possible at home. As the productivity of the average worker may differ when working from home rather than at the usual workspace. There are few prerequisites that remote workers need to work in their home workspace.
