Everyone asked themselves “What do I want to be when I grow up ?”
“Do I want to be a Journalist, an Enrepreneuer, a Photographer ?”
Nowdays in our society, job titles have come to define who a person is. But by defining yourself by what you do rather than by who are you and how do it can put yourself in the wrong direction for your career path.
If you choose to be defined by your job, your world becomes very limited and everything that happens at work seems personal. By doing this you risk to underestimate how to work, the relationships and people’s value and you begin to value them solely on how they can help your career.
Does this describe you?
If yes, be careful. Infact if you accidentally lose your job, you can feel lost, purposeless and even depressed, often with disastrous physical effects.
Luckily you can overcome this obstacles. You can start thinking that your job doesn’t define You, but it’s Who You are and How You work, that’s what matters.
So, Lets see what you can do in practice:
· First of all invest more time for your personal life.
· Find your WHY, your purpose at work and in life. Start the process of defining “WHO” you are and “HOW” you do things and not just WHAT you do.
· Start to develop an healthy work life balance.
· Redefine achievement and accomplishment.
· Not be a Multi-Tasker but Be a Single-Tasker
· Learn and start to audit your emotions with your colleagues and boss.
· Develop strong and healthy emotional connections with people inside and outside of work. It help provide meaning in what you are doing and in life in general. Relationships are the key to happiness, so give great importance on how you develop and nurture them. Start to listen more in your communication and learn to listen for understanding, not to respond.
