What a week! Barb Patterson’s amazing Business Salon on Wednesday and the 3PGC Practitioner Conference that started on Thursday evening. It has been a full-on 3P immersion week! It was wonderful to meet with practitioners from all over the world and to listen to the original teachers share their understanding of the Principles! I am still in the conference afterglow and feeling a bit wooly-headed. Angus and I are looking forward to a relaxing evening at home with the pets. Very ordinary and perfect!
I’ve heard the story numerous times that Sydney Banks would say this is the best cup of tea I’ve ever had whenever he had a cup of tea. I am struck by how delicious the ordinariness of life is with a quiet mind. The simple things in life feel so satisfying like cuddling on the couch. With my ego settled my need for grandiosity has receded to the background, and life feels good. The mundane feels satisfying. The simplicity is enjoyable. Contentment is natural. There is nothing to strive for. At least that is the feeling at this moment. I don’t know if it is a passing moment or a new level of seeing. More will be revealed.
Sydney Banks discovered the secret to a happy life. He saw through the game of life to the intelligence behind it, and this opened up a new world for him. He was compelled to share what he saw with all who would listen so others could live in a new reality with a deeper experience of their true nature and more inner freedom. He saw the profound impact of what he uncovered for reducing human suffering.
I am struck by the depth of impact he had on all of the original teachers’ lives and by their gratitude. In turn, I am grateful to them for sharing his legacy, each in their authentic way. All of the teachers at the conference pointed to truth using their personal stories about the impact of the understanding on their lives. Each one of them reminded us to look within to our own wisdom. And Dicken Bettinger reminded us that that wisdom is love. We can simply fall into love, not with anything in particular. We can simply fall into our true nature of love.
This is true for all of us. No one is exempt, and no one has more than anyone else. We are all created equal and all connected to this one source of love and inspiration.
During the conference, we were encouraged to share from our grounding and to not share from outside of our personal experience so as to avoid b.s. detectors going off. I know I am guilty of going into ideas about love and wellbeing that are above my pay grade, but what I know to be true at this moment is that we are all equal. No one is better than or less than. Nothing we can do or feel takes that away from us. We are innocent. All doing the best we can with what we know. Our humanity is not a weakness or an impediment to spiritual awakening. It is the vehicle. Our personal nature gives us the perfect experience for us to wake up. As Elsie Spittle would say, it is the perfect continuing education curriculum for us.
It is such relief for me to know I can’t get it wrong. I am enough. No more is needed.
Hopefully, you feel this too — Your innate okay-ness. You do not need to feel it in every moment to know it is true. You can have the full range of our human experience and know you are okay in it all. There is no need to understand or change it. You can simply be with it.
The more I am able to be with my humanity, the bigger my heart expands, and the more compassion I feel for myself and others. The perfection I thought I needed to be happy and to feel worthy no longer looks important. All of my negative qualities and behaviors that I used to judge so harshly now look normal and are no longer an impediment to my experience of wellbeing. It is so powerful to see them neutrally without judgment. I see the learning available, but my self-worth is not diminished.
I am pointing you to your innate wellbeing and okay-ness, exactly as you are. I am pointing you to your essence of love and wisdom that is your ultimate resource. I am pointing you to your capacity to ignore your personal thinking or at least to relate to it more lightly so you can feel the deeper feelings that bubble up from behind the content of thought. Some might call it the space in which thought occurs, the Principles in action, God, or something else. Whatever label you use, allow yourself to feel the truth of it. Feel into your knowing. Allow yourself to receive all of who you are. This is ordinary and normal. There is nothing special about your magnificence because we are all magnificent. And the world lights up when we own it and claim it.
You are the authority. You have innate wisdom. You are the universe in action and you have everything you need within.
