1. You are your first priority:

When you are saying yes to somebody think twice about saying no to yourself. Learn to prioritize yourself in success, work or anywhere. Be grateful for what you do for yourself. When I personally started practicing this myself I started feeling more confident about myself.

I cannot think of anything but snoop dogg’s Hollywood walk of fame speech where he says “I want to thank me, I want to thank me for believing in me, for doing all the hard work, I want to thank me for having no days off, I want to thank me for never quitting and for always being a giver and I want to thank me for being me” and more than anything else this explains how appreciating yourself is significant.

2. Self care is not selfish:

People might sometimes say that you are only concerned about your own happiness but isn’t this vital? From a famous quote “You can’t pour from an empty cup” illustrates how you yourself have to be happy and positive first.

3. Cut the crap:

A lot of us attract needless problems into our life every now and then. I for one always trust my intuition, when it says you are wrong it turns out to be true 90 % of the times. We at times decide to ignore and regret it later but I believe we always know what’s good for us.

4. Appreciate the little things:

I frequently remind myself and know that happiness is not really coupled with anything huge in life. The job, the money or any success, even if those were precisely what I wanted they never made me happy. Then where do we find our happiness? In the little things in life. Just the idea of having hot water in shower or even water to drink makes me feel very grateful and when I enjoy these little things I know everything forever will be okay.

5. Give time some time:

We all make mistakes and we all wait for results or just to get over a bad phase. When something turns out to be bad there’s only one question that pops in my mind, what’s the worst that could happen? And the answer makes everything look so small instantly. There’s only one thing I keep telling myself during such times-Time heals everything and good times are coming.

6. Do what makes your soul happy:

Listen to that song, Watch that show and Go out with that friend. I really love how some people work towards their dreams day in-day out but are we forgetting the main purpose of live? Are we even living our Life? Sometimes we chase something too much that we forget about the basic/important things in life.

When asked about what surprised him the most about humanity Dalai Lama said ‘Man sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health and then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future, he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived”

7. Give yourself permission to pause:

You can be too hard on yourself sometimes especially with today’s lifestyle we always want to be on the top of everything. Working hard is important but so is disconnecting. I always make sure I hit the pause button once in a while.

8. Accept, Learn, Repeat:

This cycle is what defines life and it’s essential for each of us to take risks, make mistakes, learn from them and repeat. A lot of scars and mistakes mean you did a lot in life and it is that which shapes your personality.

9. Get some sleep:

A good sleep is a cure to everything; it helps you kick start the day on a positive note. The day turns out to be calmer when you have a good sleep.

10. Its okay not to be perfect:

Imagine if someone said “you are ugly, you cannot make it, you are a failure” everyday, that would make your life miserable. For me this was my everyday negative self talk and I realized I have to stop being mean to myself. Who said anyone has to be a certain way to look beautiful or anything has to be done a certain way to be correct? Anything and Everything which exists in this world, every way of living is natural and is expected to be the way they are.
