We are moving into spring, much associate spring cleaning with organizing the home and getting rid of things we no longer need. What if we did spring cleaning with our mental and emotional space?

Make this spring be your springboard to personal transformation. As we practice new ways of bringing more health and joy into our life, we not only become participants we become teachers.

Make Time and Space for Yourself

The first step is to create time for you. Then have a plan of where you want your alone space to be. An important variable is that you choose an enjoyable place. The goal is that when you take the time and plan your sacred space you provide an opportunity to learn more about yourself, and you can reflect on your life. Being alone or creating quiet time can be troublesome for some. Take small steps, and you will learn to love your solitude.

Nature is all around us, and when we are alone, the energy alone of the earth can encourage us to focus on one’s life and also improve goal setting.

One of my favorite places is hiking the Koloiki Ridge in Lãna’i, Hawaii. The natural beauty that this trail provides is healing not only to the physical body but mentally—passing groves of Kukui nut trees, Ironwood trees, and ginger plants. When you take a moment to stop and listen to the sound of the trees rustling the leaves and the birds chirping, you can almost hear the voice of the ocean as you get closer to the top.

Set Your Intention

Practicing setting an intention daily for yourself creates a purpose for our lives. Establishing a plan opens up a pathway that guides your day, so your day is not left up to chance. Begin by taking inventory of the areas in your life that you want to improve and grow. I am a firm believer in manifesting and dreaming big in terms of where you want to be in your life. When we think about these things, they are just thoughts, so it is essential to write them down. Work on writing out some steps that you can take to bring you closer to achieving what you want.

Have your plan align with your intention. For example, if you desire to have more time for yourself, that is your intention. Your steps may be to have your day planned out the night before so you can create time for you.

Lastly, letting go of limiting beliefs is a must, and that can be a high intention to begin spring cleaning from the inside out.

Letting go

Letting go of bad habits, letting go of self-limiting beliefs, and letting go of what no longer serves you is essential practices to keep your transformation going.

Together let’s create space and time for ourselves to shine our light and bring more joy into our lives this spring of 2020.
