Life is made for living. Sounds a little clique and obvious, doesn’t it? But when you delve into your own life and really think about it (like really) a lot of time is spent waiting for the next big holiday, the next big purchase, the next month, a new year. Or dreaming about a future you, a better you, where you’ll exercise more, eat less and drink less. The future is happening now and the moments waiting for something better to come along are the moments wasted.

Living for right now is essential for long-term happiness and well-being. On the topic, we’ve put together a list of what makes day to day life a little bit easier for us and rounded up some tips below.

Hang Out More

Having a good circle of friends means having a strong support system. The people you surround yourself with help you grow. Listen to them, and learn from them because chances are the reason your friends is because you compliment each other. Take time to appreciate them on a daily basis. Text them, call them and embrace them. If you’ve just moved to a new city or town and are struggling there are loads of great sites like Meet Up all you do is set up a profile and choose your city. People post events, and you can join groups based on interests, so if you’re a huge photography buff you can join an expedition in your new city. Or Meet My Dog is a social site for people and their dogs it lets users choose an area and meet like-minded people and their adorable fluffy companions What’s better than human AND dog connections?

Do fun Stuff

Duuh we hear you say. But we mean something fun and different, out of your comfort zone. Get dressed up and invite people over for a casino night. Casino sets with blackjack, roulette, cards, and a mat are available online for super cheap. Serve champagne in a coupe, wear the best black tie and go full James Bond. Or, you can use online casinos for a party. There are hundreds to join and lots of casinos offer a casino online bonus when you sign-up. So you and your friends could all chip in and play. Be warned – it can get competitive.

Have a potluck dinner. Get all your friends to make a dish and make it special by selecting a theme for the evening, like Mexican. Kit your house out with Mexican attire and a Mexican themed playlist. Potlucks really bring people together, and you’d be surprised by how many people get into it. Did someone say guacamole?

Eat Clean

We live in a fast-paced society of convenience, because of this our diets can suffer. Do you know where all your food is coming from? Or, what’s been sprayed on it? Having a healthy mind and body is all about eating healthy. Find a local farmers market for the best organic produce. Research a company to find out its policies and ethos. Make sure you’re eating your 5 a day. It’s not rocket science, but you are what you eat and eating sustainable and traceable food is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves and our planet.

Relax Your Mind

meditation

Mediation can take some getting used to and a lot of work for it to become a part of your daily lifestyle. But, once you find a place for it your general health and mindset will thank you. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube and Headspace offers a free package which is ideal for beginners and has sessions on everything from anxiety to sleep and how to train your focus. Start by trying to do five minutes and slowly build it up. When you train your mind to live in the moment and learn to take time out of chaos there really is no better feeling.

Don’t let your life run away from you. Enjoy where you’re at and everything you’ve accomplished and make little changes for a big future impact.
