Max Micallef, a driven progressive, is a Purchase College student majoring in political science with a minor in sociology. He is involved in multiple areas of politics and government, including campaign operations, writing/journalism, and advocacy. Max is a Staff Writer for the political & civic engagement platform The Student Post, as well as the international LGBTQ+ community focused Alturi.org. Max continues to be the LGBTQ+ Facilitator with the Progressive East End Reformers chapter of N.Y.P.A.N., as well as a Board Member with the Hudson Valley chapter of GLSEN. Max is also a guest speaker with walking events under the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and is also the published author of the poetry book titled, "Of Love and Mental Health", which holds the related topic. Some of his interests include incorporating contemplative and empathetic forms into political counseling, conducting and partaking in interviews, and politics/government beyond the party system (and 3rd party analysis).
