Looking for a job is hard work with so much emphasis on our working resume today. It seems counter-intuitive why someone would apply for a job they already have done as opposed to stretching themselves into a new role. Isn’t that where professional growth comes from? Why doesn’t our life experience play a more profound role in the job market? Surely all my years raising children whom both overcame learning disabilities or the mental strength it took to complete my first full marathon not to mention the countless hours I spend giving back to our community must have some kind of impact in the corporate world?

I have applied to several hundred jobs over the course of the last year with the same outcome over and over: I don’t have the right title listed on my previous experience, I don’t have enough experience or I am overqualified. I have dropped off work portfolios, passed out my resume and recommendations on flash drives, reached out to more contacts than I can count. What’s a person to do? Frustrating is an understatement.

I am not the only one who feels the frustration. Serial Entrepreneur Jesse Itzlerbelieves “we only get one shot at life and we often focus so much on our traditional resume….but, what if we flipped that model upside down and built the LIFE RESUME we always dreamed of? What if we could land our dream job or get that promotion we always wanted because of our experiences?  What if we felt more alive at work and with our family because of HOW we lived our daily lives?” That is where is Build Your Life Resume comes into play.

Build Your Life Resume

Jesse does not believe in resumes in the traditional sense. Goals do not work, it is your lifestyle that will take you to the next level. Jesse believes in life resumes. Building experiences, creating memories, doing more. And that is why he created the Build Your Life Resume to help coach people to their potential.

“Build Your Life Resume” is a life coaching program that focuses on four main buckets, 1) Business 2) Mindset 3) Wellness 4) Relationships.

The next course starts on May 2 and I am signed up and ready to go as I can use all the help I can get! I would love for you to join me, please let me know if you sign up as well.

Always trying to build his life resume, Jesse has set out for another new experience, the 290929. During my chat with Mike Cosentino, Co-Owner of the Big Peach Running Co, I learned about this new “Burning Man” meets “Ironman” challenge taking place August 22 – 25 in Snowbasin, UT with an entry cost of $4,000!

29029 is a cure for the monotony and gimmicks of existing races.  In this epic endurance challenge, you have 36 hours to hike 29,029 vertical feet, the equivalent of Mt. Everest. You join a community of like-minded individuals complete with bands, bonfires; even the aid stations resemble Whole Foods!

The Big Peach Running Cois joining the 29029 community as a supplier for the 2019 Aid Station(s) and Goody Bags. Keep an eye out for the participants landing page currently in development on the Big Peach Website. To learn more, please visit: https://jesseitzler.com/#events
