I had the same thought back in 2006 when I through one together. I put a picture of an Escalade on it, a truck I could not at the time afford. It hung on the wall right beside my bedroom door. It fell off the wall a few times too and stayed behind my dresser for a good 6 months. Eventually, I went to dust and there it was (we are now at the end of 2007). I thought to myself, “well that didn’t work” but I stuck it back on the wall. In March of 2008, I got a 2006 Escalade with 36k miles on it.

Ever since I was hooked on vision boards, and over the years I’ve learned a lot about how they work and the things I think we should and should not do when it comes to their creation.

1.) Don’t make your 2019 vision board in 2018. Or at the end of any year. Why? well, we have this saying “out with the old in with the new”. The message and vibration that we send out, is that a chapter has closed. All of our desires, and wishes from the year prior no longer mean as much. Right. Like, good riddance 2018. (Although I personally loved 2018). Try to create your board within the first week of the new year.

2.) Don’t use glue on your board. Use tape. You’re about to find out why.

3.) Create a Gratitude Board to go right beside your Vision Board. On this gratitude board you will hang all of the things you’re thankful for. You will also move things from the vision board to the gratitude board as you receive them. This way the energy of the boards is in perfect sync with your desires and gratitude. (this is why we use tape, if you glue it on you’ll tear your board).

In order for you vision board to work you’ll have to do more than tape photo’s and words to it. You’ll have to believe internally that all of these things WILL show up externally. You can’t just stick things to the board and be done. You have to take small daily actions towards the things you want. You’ll also have to be very clear about what you want. Trust me not being clear is the difference between receiving a lollypop that is brand new verses one that is half eaten.

If you’ve never made a Vision Board before here are the steps to creating your first one!

1.) Get magazines ( or any other visual that has meaning for you. Blank checks, food, etc.)
2.) Cut out photo’s that represent your desires, goals, or needs.
3.) Purchase 2 poster-boards (I’m personally not a fan of online vision boards).
4.) Layout all of the photos and words in front of you. Imagine receiving the things you see. Feel it. Know it. Believe the events will happen.
5.) Begin taping them in place. You can put them anywhere on the board that makes sense to you.
6.) Hang it on a wall in your room, or in a place that you generally go to alone. I believe keeping your board private keeps it free of judgment.
7.) Look at it daily, and be sure to take steps towards each thing you desire.
8.) As things occur, move the photos to the Gratitude Board.

How to Create a Gratitude Board

1.) Purchase poster-board, and write Gratitude on the top or some variation of that. Mine says “I’m so THANKFUL for” and then I post photo’s under it. Every year mine begins with a photo of my family and pets. This way I begin the year thankful and open.

I am wishing you a Successful, Limitless, Healthy, New Year!
