When he was being interviewed in a popular Tv show, Michael J Fox who has been a vocal ambassador of people living with PD, he said that Parkinson’s sucks since every day, one wonder why the hell they got themselves with the disease in the first place. Michael J Fox founded an organization that is testing ways in which PD can finally get a cure. He has counselling and all manner of PD adaptive tools and encouragement next to him but when comes up with such words that PD indeed does suck then it only shows how the average person is indeed stressed by the disease.

Unfortunately, PD does not have a cure and one might not know whether they are at high of getting it or how they can prevent themselves from getting it in the first place. So, the best thing is to know how to cope with the disease. I am pleased by the developments that PD awareness is taking in Africa where it had previously been seen as ‘buko’ or witchcraft in Uganda and a curse in Kenya.

Forming support groups

The best thing that PD patients can have is a support group where they meet and discuss the various struggles they are going through and this way, they are able to encourage each other as well as come up with ways in which they can beat it together. The formation of the Michael J Fox was as a result of these kind of support groups.

Use of CBD oil

The use of cbd oil as shown here https://greenthevoteok.com/cbd-oil/ has been extensively researched and found to be of great value to people who are suffering from PD. And I think that is why countries are slowly legalizing medical marijuana which has been found to relieve anxiety as well as make sick people less stressed.

Adaptive tools and clothing

PD tremors make it so hard for one to function normally. PD patients have trouble eating and they therefore need specialized utensils to eat well. They will also have trouble wearing and that is why one woman whose husband had PD went to the extent of inventing magnetic buttons for shirts. They can also use dressing sticks to wear shoes and reach out for jackets. When the symptoms go on, they will have trouble walking and therefore need walkers or wheelchairs.

Proper caregiving and medication

PD patients need good care from their caregivers. You need to be there for them and understand their ups and downs. There will be days when they want to talk and other times when they do not want to see you. You also need to give them meds to control the tremor such as levodopa and sinemet. However this will stop working after sometimes.
