Vikki Johnson, Creator of Soul Wealth

We live in a world where it seems like chaos has become integrated and accepted as normalcy. From the unpredictable peril of mass shootings, to polluted political climates, to the internal wars of private pain. There is a global outcry for peace. We caught up with Dr. Vikki Johnson, Creator and Founder of Soul Wealth to talk about her latest book release and the expanding mission of her life’s work.

What inspired the birthing of this book, your 12th book, SoulWealth?

The inspiration for this book has been in motion for about five years.  It was not a quick project at all.  I had to experience a whole lot of brokenness, heal from my brokenness, learn from my brokenness so that I could write about my brokenness. I had holes in my own soul. Once I started doing the work to heal, I was divinely inspired to share my lessons. I had an awareness that I wasn’t the only one needing enlightenment in the midst of chaos.

What is the overarching message that you are conveying to the reader?

The overarching message is that PEACE IS POSSIBLE…even in the storm. I want people to know that the work is internal. Once you have committed to self-awareness it leads to self-mastery which sets us up to practice self-love. From this place, we become emotionally, mentally, spiritually, physically, and relationally good stewards of self. This book is to encourage people to look in the mirror and be honest about the gaps or leaks or cracks so they can be addressed.

When did you know you were called to be a catalyst to heal the soul of a woman?

WOW! I knew I was called to be a catalyst to help women heal their souls at 10 years old.  I started my first girls club at ten. We were called the Clover Zodiacs.  We are still friends today over 40 years later.

I will say however, along the way and when I was shrouded in my own darkness of postpartum depression, divorce, overwhelming debt and other “stuff” I forgot about the call.  I was trying to survive from day to day. I was barely making it.  I lived on the verge of a nervous breakdown for years. I really did. One day it is like my soul “remembered” and then reminded me that I could turn on my own light…literally. In that moment, the darkness began to dissipate little by little until it was all gone. I made it through my night season. Gratitude now fuels my desire to help others turn on their own light.

Would you say that Soul Wealth is evolutionary – how does one truly measure the wealth (and progress) of their soul?

Soul Wealth is absolutely evolutionary. So much time is spent in pursuit of material possessions, accomplishments, and status. Historically we have put our “emotional wellness” on the back burner. The atmosphere was and is full of noise. It took time to break through that barrier of energetic distractions.

I’ve been consistently speaking “Soul Wealth” for years. It was preparation for now. I’m grateful to shatter or break up the noise long enough for people to listen to something else. Soul Wealth gives people another option to not only cope but to heal.

Your subtitle is Finding Vision, Compassion, Authenticity, Abundance & Legacy In The Midst Of Chaos. First talk about “in the midst of chaos” – are you suggesting that all these attributes can be attained despite current chaos happening in one’s life?

“In the midst of chaos” is the CURRENT state of affairs in the world. The climate, our culture of racial tension, political banter, immigration, international conflict, gun violence, police brutality, sexual abuse, addiction, mass media overload, social media obsession and the list of chaotic quagmire goes on and on. Humanity is hollering for peace. People’s lives are in pieces. What the world needs now is vision, compassion, authenticity, abundance and legacy first in our individual lives. We can’t give away what we don’t have.

Do you believe that “chaos” is the outward manifestation of an inward (soul) condition…?

Chaos is 100% the outward manifestation of an inward soul or emotional disruption.  That is true for individuals, families, communities, our country. Just look around. Listen.

Give us some Soul Wealth wisdom in the following areas:

Vision – Get a vision for every area of your life. It is a roadmap toward peace. Without vision it is like walking around blindfolded.

Compassion – Be loving, gentle and kind to yourself first. It equips you to be loving, gentle and kind to others.

Authenticity – Who are you and what are YOU here to do? Who are you to BE? The answers will support the clarity of your vision.  The answers will also assist in creating capacity to be compassionate toward others.  Once you unleash the “bare naked you” then everything else falls into place.

Abundance – Provision and grace follow clear vision.  Abundance is the result of authenticity.  Perpetual overflow to serve others comes once you set boundaries to manage your capacity. Good stewardship is essential to being trusted with more.

Legacy – What imprint will your life leave? How will you be remembered? What will people say about how you made them feel? What did you teach them? The answers will be your legacy.

What do we need to know about your brand, movement, book tour…?

I’m grateful to be the conduit of this gift of Soul Wealth. It is a lifestyle. We have a product line of candles, scented shea butter, and room sprays to enhance your sacred spaces.

Soul Wealth is a “way of being” or as I call it “intangible prosperity”.

I mentor women through the Soul Wealth Academy to practice this way of living. I have an extensive speaking schedule, so I’ll be doing book signings at each of those events as well as visiting book clubs and bookstores.
