Today I’m going to encourage you to get in the woods now. You know, life gets stressful sometimes, we all have different situations that we have to deal with, sometimes day in and day out, sometimes once a week, sometimes once a month. Everybody’s a little different, but, at some point, we all get a little stressed, and I just want to encourage you guys to get out in nature and just take a walk. It’s really that simple.

It’s such a stress reliever. If you’ve never done it before, or if you haven’t done it in a couple of years or something like that, I highly recommend you do it. When you go out in the woods, try not to think about the stressful things in life, just try to focus on what you’re doing in that moment in time. So, when you’re walking around in your best boots for rucking, just observe the things around you, listen to the sounds, the smells, try to get away from all those problems that occur in your life and just focus on you right now in this moment in time. And, basically, that’s what I do to get all the stress released out of my body.

But it’s really simple, it’s free, it doesn’t cost any money, you don’t need to do anything, well, you need to drive to a location, but that’s about it, and, yeah, just focus on what you’re doing in that moment in time. Focus on the trees around you, observe them, look at them. Look at the bark, look at the texture, try to see if you can distinguish the difference between certain trees. There’s a lot of different things you can do. Look at the leaves on the ground if it’s fall time or winter or something like that. Listen to the sounds, listen to the birds, the smells. Usually, when it’s low air pressure, the smells are more fragrant, and you can smell flowers and the dew if it’s just rained, stuff of that nature, and I just want to encourage you all to get out in the woods.

Just do some walking. You don’t need to climb a mountain or nothing like that. And if you think you don’t have any woods around you, message me, tell me your location, I’ll find the woods, I’ll find them, because, trust me, I’ve been in every patch of woods, I don’t know, 50 miles from my house, and there’s woods everywhere. Depends. Maybe not everywhere, but I’ll find a patch of woods where you can go in, if you really want to, if you’re struggling to find a patch of woods. Message me, I will make it happen, I promise.

It’s really that simple. You go out into the woods, you take a walk, and you just don’t think about anything, just live in that moment. Listen to the sounds, observe everything, and I guarantee you, if you do the same hike that you just did, do it again a week later, it’s a whole different experience. That’s why I love it so much. The trees are going to change, the birds, maybe you’ll have a different bird the next time you go out, the smells will be different, everything will be different. The more you go out, the more interesting things happen.

I saw a owl for the first time about, I don’t know, two or three weeks ago, maybe a month, for the first time and I was in awe. My life just like stopped at that moment in time, and I was like, “Oh, my God, there’s a freaking owl,” and I’m just trying to hold the camera and I’m trying to stabilize it. I’m like, “Oh, my God, I’m watching an owl right now.” But, you know, there’s so many different experiences out there. It’s basically a way to get away from all the things in the city, well, I don’t want to say in the city, because a lot of people live in the city, but in the everyday life, the busy life. It’s just a way to get away from it all and a way to just relax. Breathe, relax, clear your head, don’t think about nothing.

It’s a little difficult in the beginning, but the more you do it, the easier it gets, right? That goes for everything, pretty much, right? Practice makes perfect. There’s so much diversity, so many different kinds of trees. The more time you spend out here, the more you research, the more you learn, it enhances the experience every time.

And it’s fun, you know? Take a leaf home. Bring it home, try to figure out what tree it is. Take a picture of some bark. Go home, try to figure out what tree it is. It’s fun. It’s always fun to learn new things, and it’s something that you could basically go anywhere and teach somebody. You don’t have to … Obviously there’s trees everywhere, so, I don’t know, learning how to ID different things is really fun, because you can go anywhere and ID trees. You can go to the supermarket, there’ll be a tree in the parking lot, you can say, “Oh, I know what tree that is,” and tell your friends. It’s fun. It’s fun to learn about nature and stuff that’s around us every single day.

A lot of people don’t know too much about nature, and trees, and the wildlife, and it’s really around us all the time, we just don’t observe it, or don’t perceive it, or don’t have it in our perception. That was kind of complex right there, what the hell just happened? But it’s enjoyable to me, and I just want to encourage you all to do the same. Hopefully, it can relieve some of that stress in you guys’ life. Get out in nature, and just listen. I hear some birds, and a motorcycle on the highway. Can’t always get far, far away from the roads though. But that’s okay. The birds are around, the deer are always out in this area, I just haven’t seen any yet.

I don’t know where I am. It’s time to pull out the GPS and find out how to get home. Yeah, make sure you plan your hike. Tell people where you’re going, how long you’re going, bring a map, bring a compass, try to learn how to use a compass. There’s a lot of information online about all that stuff. Maybe I will make a video about it sooner or later. But, yeah, I got to pull out my GPS now, because I’m not really sure where I am. I’m just walking and talking. So thanks for watching, guys. Hopefully I inspire you guys. Please share this video. Help me inspire others to get out in nature, and I’m definitely, positively sure you will enjoy it. But that’s all I got. Take care, guys.
