Harold Ford Jr. was a U.S. Congressman from 1997-2007 in the US House of Representatives. He served as a member of the Democratic Party from Tennessee’s 9th congressional district and was first elected to Congress at the age of 26. Ford Jr was the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) chairman and is a frequent contributor to NBC’s Meet the Press, MSNBC, NCC and CNBC.

Former President Bill Clinton once referred to Harold Ford Jr as “the walking, living embodiment of where America ought to go in the 21st century.” Ford spends time lecturing part-time at the University of Michigan’s Ford School of Public Policy. He is also the author of the book More Davids Than Goliaths: A Political Education, published in 2010.
