It’s the start of a new week.

Feel like maybe going for a walk, or how about a hike? How about finding some time to relax and find some peace, stillness and beauty all through the healing power of nature. Or perhaps you want to connect with others, or you are feeling introspective and chose to hike alone? Maybe you want to let go of something that is no longer serving you or want to deepen your relationships with other women, or maybe you want to deepen the most important relationship, the one with yourself.

How about taking it to another level and tapping into your inner wisdom by healing past fears or wounds, and possibly discovering your purpose in life and finding your voice? What if you could do all of these things at the same time?

My mission for Finding Your Trail is to move women to a greater purpose in their lives who crave more though hiking and the healing power of nature. This journey is about what really happens to us internally, as well as externally, through connection and emotional healing, Hiking is both an internal experience as well as a collective shared one. Sometimes it is even the unspoken word the binds us to one another. Whatever it is for you, it is powerful. It is grounding, It is empowering. It is enlightening. It is magical.

It was after the loss of my own mother who died at 58 years young to cancer, I was completely lost. No one can prepare you for this unbearable pain. It is so sudden, your life is changed forever in an instant. I did not know how to deal with this tremendous loss in my life. I felt like a part of me died with her. I was paralyzed and felt very alone, kind of like that feeling when you are under water and you cannot come up for air, suffocating. I knew I needed to find a way to get this pain out of me emotionally, physically and spiritually, but I did not know how.

But what changed everything for me was a friend who got me out of bed to go on a hike all those years ago.  What I found was, hiking to got me through the most unimaginable tragedy in my life. I have never found anything more powerful than being out in nature and slowly coming up for air with each step I took. It is transforming, It is my moving meditation, my moving therapy. It is healing. It is beautiful. It is peaceful. It is empowering.

I was determined to transform this pain into beauty and to share it with others. My story stems from this enormous loss and the grief that I carried with me through much of my adulthood. I have been hiking for over 18 years now, and with each hike I tackled, I started to heal and feel alive again. But mostly, I discovered me.

I wanted to shout out this transformation to everyone I knew, to really make a difference and share this experience with others so they can discover what I had learned through loss, transition, pain and mostly self-discovery through our incredible mountains. This is my mission now, not just to bring purpose, but to bring healing and aliveness to women everywhere.

I had to find out what hiking had to teach me. I had to re-experience feelings that were buried so deep within me.

Today, I am the founder of Finding Your Trail, a unique empowerment wellness hiking program where I guide small groups of women and challenge them physically, emotionally through sharing and connection and spiritually through meditation. It is a program about the transformation of the mind, body and soul. Small groups of participants work together through a course for up to 12 weeks through hiking. The basis of this program is physical exercise, spiritual awakening and emotional connectivity. The evolution from week to week is profound.

Each week is designed with an intention, there may also be an activity or action step to accompany the week. The weeks are designed to build upon the previous lessons and teachings. As every participant starts to peel back their emotional layers and dig deeper within, the magic starts to happen. There is something so magical about a tightly knit group of women bonding and sharing together. The FYT community creates the context and the confidence for a transforming journey.

I am following my trail now and it feels good, no it feels pretty damn awesome and I am excited for you to be on this journey with me!
