Something people forget about when they want to increase their productivity is their physical health. Let’s face it, how much can we actually get done if we’re feeling like crap!
The quality of our health, I feel, has a direct correlation with the quality of our productivity.
Better health means:
- More energy
- Clearer thinking
- Faster thinking
- Better focus
- More stamina
Here are my 2 biggest tips to improve your health and get you further towards being a productivity Jedi:
Eat the right stuff! We live in a world of horrible processed food! There’s no other word to describe it. Sometimes it’s good to have that stuff, it’s tasty, it’s satisfying, but remember, it’s bad for us! Greatly reduce the processed crap and increase the consuming of fresh produce, you know, the stuff that nature gives us instead of a lab giving us.
When we eat right, we not only lose weight and feel great, but we allow our body’s own powerful detox systems to start working hard, no need for these expensive “Detox Diets”.
This has a MASSIVE effect on our energy levels, mental clarity/speed and how focused and hard wee can work.
Move your body! Get out walking or running, get to the gym, get out hiking, have plenty of sex. Whatever method you use, we need to elevate our heart rate for at least 30 minutes each day (OK maybe not the sex part then LOL) for longer than just a few minutes.
When we do this, our focus improves, we release endorphins and we open up the doors in our mind that allow all the amazing ideas to start flowing. Some of my best ideas have come during gym sessions!
Moving your body each day gives:
- More energy
- Clearer thinkings
- More creative thinking
- More stamina
- Better heart health (I’m 47 but have the heart health of an 18 year old!)
There is a HUGE connection between your physical health and your productivity levels. Improving your health isn’t complicated, in fact it’s very simple, it just needs some will power. That effort taken to maintain the will power is negligible compared to the results you get in your life, your work and your business.
