I love talking about your visions/dreams and your vision statement. Your personal vision statement describes what you hope to become several years in the future.

It’s a great way of keeping us focused on the bigger picture, especially when we are at crossroads or when we feel stuck in a situation, not knowing which way to go.

Things to consider for your Vision

The vision statement should be a reflection of:

  • What we want to be and do
  • What we want to think and know
  • Who we want to be associated with
  • The impact we want to have on our family
  • A visual picture of what we hope to be in future

Some questions that you can ask yourself for the vision statement are:

  • What are my strengths?
  • What are my values?
  • What do I enjoy doing?

Answer these questions without a filter, just write down whatever comes to mind, don’t judge, just be honest.

These questions will give you a good idea on what your passions are in life. Those passions can then be added to your vision statement.

One of the ways you can create your vision or get to your vision is doing a guided meditation or use a continuous writing exercise to get to what is really important to you!

What can I do to get to my vision?

There are so many ways to get to your vision, there is no right or wrong way. Whatever works for you.

For me, I listen to music a lot, which is how I ‘meditate’ at the moment. My personal vision has grown so much over the last few weeks due to that and I keep updating my vision.

It’s important to note, that your vision statement can be changed any time you want, it’s not something that is set in stone. We are all evolving and so does our vision for ourselves and our lives.
