How your mindset is key for succeeding at your goals

You: “Mirror Mirror on the wall, who’s the cleverest of them all?”

Mirror: “You mate, you!”

Would you believe me if I said that YOU are the cleverest person alive when it comes to knowing what’s best for you and what’s most helpful to you? Well, it’s true.

Are you familiar with the quote “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve” – Napoleon Hill?

And my fave, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right” – Henry Ford

This is mindset.

In my practice, I can help my clients with a nudge here and there to start them off but I usually work my way around to insisting on them giving me answers from their lives because only they know what has happened in it.

Whatever you’re trying to do in your life, whatever you want to improve or change, only you can do it. You can have support to get you there in the form of a Coach but ultimately, it’s up to you if you want to succeed or not.

If I said to you, “yes, you can have all the things you want” but then you weren’t interested in the work that goes into achieving this, then you have decided not to move forward with those goals. If you said you wanted to change jobs and I told you that increasing your odds of finding a job you want means you need to apply to at least 10 jobs a week – would you flinch and decide that’s too much work? If you did, then you have decided that you don’t actually want that job.

You decide your fate and success of your goals.

It takes a good hard look at yourself, what’s possible and how much you want something to actually achieve it. When I was single and very over-weight, I had decided that I didn’t want to live like that anymore, I had decided that I wanted to feel comfortable in my body and I wanted to raise my self-esteem, I had decided that I would put all my will into something that would work (this time, after serial yo-yo dieting) and when I found the programme that worked, I gave it my all and succeeded. At this time, life was easier as I only had to think about myself, this time, it’s a lot harder so I have had to plan and plan and plan to get to my current weight goals.

Being motivated to do something isn’t always enough. You do need to look at your current life to see where you can do more in order to get to your goals. Remember also that whomever you aspire to did not just make it in a minute – there is no such thing as an over-night success. It takes work, commitment, determination and the will to make changes that will allow you the spoils you want.

Having a Coach of course, makes that a hell of a lot easier.
